Alicia P.O.V.
It had been a month since Leonardo had last talked, and I'm still miserable as ever. I still work at the company but somehow Leonardo has made it possible for the two of us not to come into contact with each other, and maybe it's for the best.
A part of me thinks I should just put him in the past and move on, and the other half of me finds that hard to do considering there are so many words left unsaid.
Knock knock.
I got up from my desk and to my surprise, there stood Leo.
" We need to talk" he said as he moved past my small frame and sat down in one of the chairs in front of my desk.
I gathered up all my courage and sat down, bracing myself for whatever came next.
" What do you want to talk about exactly?" I asked sitting down in my chair.
" It's pretty obvious, Alicia. We need to talk about your father." Leo said with a stern face. He had changed, his eyes weren't as bright as they used to be and instead were filled with a dullness, he honestly looked miserable.
I hated myself for caring, a whole month had went by and he just suddenly comes back into my life whenever he pleases, quite rudely at that.
" Look , I already told you everything I know and I am sorry for what happened. I know my father made big mistakes that can never be fixed or taken back. But you cannot put all your hatred toward me. If you need closure, the right person to talk to is my father, not me. I cannot explain precisely to you why he did what he did, so if you want answers, I can mention you to him but I doubt you he'd be willing to compromise." I finished never once Breaking eye contact.
" You're right, Alicia. I am sorry for putting all my anger towards you, I was in the wrong. And for not talking to you for awhile, I needed space, we both did. I'm sorry and if you don't forgive me and want me to never bother you again, I completely understand. But I do miss you, I've been miserable without you Alicia, I need you."
" Leonardo, you hurt me with your actions and your words. It will take me a while to forgive you, but first this whole situation needs to be resolved somehow." I said.

" How?" Leo asked, his brows furrowing together.
" Well, thanksgiving dinner is coming up, we can have our families meet somehow."
" No,no,no Alicia. I'm sure this will do more harm than good, can you imagine what would happen when my family finds out the same thing I found not too long ago?!! They will want war!" Leo said. I had to admit, he was right, it may do more harm than good but I refuse to let this interfere with my life and my relations to Leo.
" I know, Leo but it is the only way, unless you have a better idea." I said.
Silence.
Sometimes you just have to leave the shadows in the past, I thought to myself silently.

" Thanksgiving Dinner it is, then." Leonardo said as he stood up and exited my office.
