2 years had passed since courtneys birth and she just turned 2 a few weeks ago on August 18

matt was abusive to christina and yelled at courtney alot and always apologized as usual, but wouldn't dare touch max because he wasn't his son biologically

"christina!" yelled matt from down stairs

she ran down the stairs

"what's wrong?" she said picking up courtney

max was at his fathers house for 7 days like he does every month

"tell her to stop bothering me!" he yelled pointing at courtney

courtney started to cry "b- but daddy" she burried her head in christinas neck

"matthew she just wants some time with her father" christina said quietly

"well im busy!" he yelled

"whatever" she carried courtney to the kitchen "baby, are you okay?" she kissed her cheek

"y- yeah... why does daddy hate me?" she asked crying

"baby, daddy doesn't hate you, he just needs some time alone... daddy loves you very much okay?" she hugged courtney tight

"o- okay" she stopped crying and ran upstairs to play in her room

matt walked in while christina was putting the plates from dinner to wash

"hey" he hugged her from behind and kissed her cheek

"im sorry for yelling" he apologized

"it's fine" she didn't look at him

"where's courtney?" he asked turning her around and hugging her

"she's playing in her room" she said sweetly

"im gonna go get her" he kissed christina on the cheek and went to get courtney

"courtney!" matt yelled from downstairs

"yeah daddy?" she looked out the door

"come on baby, daddy missed his little girl" he spread his arms into a hug

she ran to him giggling and jumped into his arms

he missed the sight of his blue eyed, blonde haired baby girl

"im sorry for yelling at you sweetheart" he kissed her forehead and carried her to the couch and sat down still holding her

they cuddled together and fell asleep

christina walked in and saw them sleeping

she smiled

"they're so cute"

"mommy?" courtney asked waking up and rubbing her eyes

"yeah baby?" christina asked sitting down on the other couch

"when is max coming back?" she asked

"in a few days sweetheart"

"okay" she replied

an hour later....

matt woke up and put courtney in her bed and saw christina asleep on the couch

she looked so cute,

he thought to himself

he sat next to her and wrapped his arms around her and kissed her lips lightly

which woke her up slowly

"hey beautiful" he kissed her cheek

she smiled "hi" she said putting her head back down
