Chapter 3

All people could talk about today was the scene Alexander and I created this morning.

This was just a minor thing, I wonder what would happen when they find out that Alexander and I started dated.

I grimaced. I'm so not looking forward to that.

At lunch time when I was leaving the cafeteria to take my place in Mrs Ackerman's class room, I was stopped by the King himself.

I didn't miss the way everyone was looking at us curiously, while pretending to be talking to each other.
About us, I bet.

"Yes Mr King, what do I owe you to be graced by your presence?", I sarcastically asked him.

"What my Queen, tired of me already?"

"Queen?", I raised a brow.

He shrugged.

"Look-", he paused to scan my body," I'll not beat around the bush, and straight get to the point..You have an amazing bod, you just have to show it"

Where is this coming from? I thought.

"And why is that?", I inquired.

"Look Madison, you will now be my girlfriend. Soon. I have some reputation to keep, please change the way you dress. At least for the while you would be dating me."

I frowned, feeling insulted.
"What do you mean? That this-", I paused to graduate at my black skinny jeans and simple white T-shirt," it's not good enough?"

"No", he sighed," Just change a little. You have to comprise in this relationship too."

I found that statement amusing, I don't know why. I pressed my lips on a thin line, trying to keep a poker face.

He frowned," Are you laughing?"

I shook my head, not trusting myself to speak.

"Whatever, let's go.", he said grabbing my hand, and started walking towards the school exit gate.

That got me talking.

"Where are we going?", I asked him, panicked.

"Stop worrying. We are going shopping for you.", he told me not even warning me, before throwing me in the passenger seat of his car.

"What? Are you crazy? We'll miss school!"

I tried to open my door, but being the devil he was Alexander locked my side of the door.

"Shut the fuck up", he growled, before backing out of the school parking lot.

Great. First day back to school, and I'm already bunking.

"Relax Mads."

"Mads?", I echoed.

Alexander smirked at me.
"Yeah, don't you remember?
'Let's give each other nicknames.'", he tried to mimic my voice.

"I do not sound like that!", I argued.

"Oohhh", he teased me, laughing.

I was surprised at how comfortable I was Alexander. It was quick. He made you feel welcome. I wondered if it was a trick of his to make me trust him.

If he thought it was, he was wrong. I'm not the one to trust easily. It took Caden two years, to get me to gain trust in him. Yeah, that long.

Caden. I thought about the way he looked at me all through homeroom today. His face conveyed hurt and sadness.

I sighed and laid my head against the cool surface of the window.

I saw Alexander glance at me from the corner of my eyes.

"Are you okay? You look tired."

His sudden change of moods got me really confused.

"You do that to a person Alex."

He smirked at me," I can get you sore too."
Then he suddenly laughed.
"Oohh, you just started playing the game. You called me Alex."

I shook my head at him." I have to start sometime, don't I ?"

"Hmm, well I have a head start. Well, come on we're here."

He got out that car quickly and jogged to my side, before I had to time to apprehend what he was doing.

Alex opened the car door for me, shooting me a charming smile, which almost had me faltering for a second.

Suddenly I came to a realisation that Alex was really taking this seriously.
He really wanted to win.

I reminded myself that he just might be putting up a friendly act on the front. I didn't know how he really was on the inside. I had to be very careful.
