Since its the weekend I didn't really have to think about Alex, the game and any boy drama at all, yet Caden was persistent to make me win this game. Once and for all.
"Imagine Madison, the light leaving from the devil's eyes as he utters the three precious words he's looking oh so forward to hearing back when you shoot him down with the precarious words of poison that will be the end of him. The rejection ah."
I watch in amusement as Caden with excitement is his eyes, weaves the tale about the 'fallen king', ah how nice would it be to get the player down on his knees.
"We need a solid plan Mads, a solid A-1 idea that will knock the devil down a few notches."
"Would you stop referring to him as the devil?", I roll my eyes as I flip through my homework paper.
"Get this evil, no good school work away from you and text the boy back for goodness sake. I'll be right back."
As Caden rushes off, I ponder about the texts Alex had sent me the previous night. He seemed particularly mad and more so, since I had run off with his well known enemy, Tristan.
I once again wondered what had happened between them that caused such deep hatred for eachother. No one seemed to know why they had such a deep rivalry. Not even Caden, your go to gossip guy. Surely it had to be more than the stupid popularity rivalry at school, with them being the most desired guys at school. Heck, Tristan didn't even like the attention.
Quickly disregarding those thoughts, I shooted a small apology at Alex, saying sorry for not returning his texts that it is. I'm not at all sorry for running off with Tristan. After all, Alex was the one who seemed to enjoy Ashley all over him.
Yesterday with Tristan was a good time. I grinned as I pictured the night before.
A loud banging noise broke me from my reverie. Caden was holding a bell in his hand and a sage in another. Alarmed at the madness in his eyes, I rushed over to him as I snatched the things out of his hands.
"You dummy, what are you doing?"
"Manifesting lover boy, ofcourse", he pouted as he tried to snatch the things out of my hand.
I stifled a laugh at that as I handed him back the bell and the sage.
"That would take MONTHS, Caden. Months. I don't have enough time for that. And besides, we don't even know if that really works. Does it?"
Caden's expression turned solemn for a second, but he coyly smiled at me the next.
"It certainly does. I got you back in my life, didn't I?"
I shook my head at his silliness before hugging him tightly. I never wished to let go. This felt like home.
"Now shoo", I said as I jokingly pushed him away from me," I need to start getting ready for work."
Caden wrinkled his nose at that before collecting his stuff and walking over to my window.
He did realise that there were other ways to get out of the house other than using my window and risking breaking his neck? The front door would be a great option.
"Oh, by the way. I can tell you what really works. Food. A way to any man's heart. Especially those brownies of yours muah.", he kissed his fingers to relay the power of food before winking at me leaping out of the window.
Hmm, brownies not a bad idea.

I sighed as I stepped behind the counter and busied myself by resuming my work for the day.
