Chapter 9

COMPUTER:I HATE YOU I LOVE YOU

I had no control over my body and kissed him back. Before long, he drew back eyes filled with confusion, pain and sadness.

"You're not kidding?" He asked. I shook out of my dream world realizing this didn't mean he changed the slightest, it just possibly does...

"No Gabriel I'm not." I growled. "Some of us don't lie about these kinds things and tell the truth. Yes, I did lie to you at first but I have a right to! You're abusive! You don't tell the truth ever AND! You have yet to tell me what you've done with my pack!" I growled.

Gabriel's eyes were wide with fear and pain. He sighs and looks down. "We killed them... And left the pups to die..."

I cupped my hand around my mouth, tears cascaded down my cheeks as I sat in shock. "Sapphi-" He reached out to hold me but I slapped his arms away.

"Don't touch me!" I cried.

"I-"

"Stop!" I pushed him away and ran back to the room. I slammed the door behind me and pinned my back against it before falling to the ground.

"Sapphire..." I heard a faint knock at the door.

"Leave me alone..." I sobbed.

"Sapphire please let me in... I just want to talk...." He pleaded.

"I said leave me alone!" I yelled at him. Not another word came from behind the door. Foot steps slowly drifted off but I didn't care. I looked down at my baby bump and started to sing as I rubbed it.

"Late at night, when the moon is high, the wolf will make its eerie cry. Echoes in the valleys deep and the mountains that are steep. Then they travel far and wide, to find that soothing lullaby. They do not stop, not once at all, until they find that lovely song. Their children listen with awe and fright, to how their parents sing at night. Then they run with their pack, not turning once to look back. Running in the snowy night. Covering their coats in frosty delight, finding the source of the music, sitting down and howling to it. Crying with the pack they found. Vibrating the land with its sound, they sing all night not in day. Then they leave to get their prey." I finished.

I felt a kick and winced. I sighed and looked up to the ceiling. Footsteps drew near from the other side of the door but I ignored them. A light knocking started.

"Sapphire..?" Gabriel's voice was soft and in question. I didn't reply silent tears rolling down my cheeks slowly. "Sapphire..." his voice became slightly worried. The door knob twisted but I turned slightly and pounded on the door with my fist.

"Go away!" I growled. "I don't want you." My heart broke slightly at my words... It seemed impossible. My heart was already shattered, I didn't think it could break anymore...

I missed my family... I missed mother always making eggs and warning me to be safe. I missed dad standing by Alpha Hayden's side as his loyal deputy. I missed Freya always laughing with me when I came home from my run. I missed Brett telling me not to fall in a rabbit hole everyday when I went out to a run.

I few tears slid down my cheeks as I laughed at the fun memory.

"Help!" I howled. "Help! Help! Help! My yelps echoed around me and I whimpered.

"Sapphire?!" Freya yelped and raced towards me.

"You do realize you're a wolf and not a rabbit right, fire?" I heard Brett laugh.

"Oh just you wait till I get my head out of here you little piece of fox dung!" I growled kicking my legs out as I tried to pull back.

"Ah fire," The brown wolf laughed. "Always hot headed."

"Brett!" Freya and I both shot at him. He only laughed more.

"Help! I can't breath! I don't like it in here! I can't breath! Help me!" I howled. "I'm gonna die!" My tail hid in between my legs as I whimpered.

"You're not gonna die." Brett lightly laughed.

"I might! How would you know!?" Weight was put above me and I yelped. "You're gonna crush me!"

"It's ok Sapphire, we're just gonna dig you out." Freya assured me.

"Don't crush me please!" I whimpered.

I started to hear the scuffle of paws as they dug the entrance wider. I tried pulling back but Brett made me freeze.

"Dont!" He barked. "You'll make it fall if you do that!" I followed his warning not wanting to die. I lied down and waited to be free.

As I began to feel space around my shoulders and neck and shuffled back. I leaped back and pranced around happily.

I froze, snapped my head back and howled in joy. It was great to finally be out of there! I shot a cold glare to Brett and Freya. "Not a word of this to any wolf!" I growled.

They both laughed and we started to walk back to the pack house happily.

"Sapphire?" I blinked back into reality.

"Don't talk to me!" I spat.

"Sapphire..." Gabriel whimpered lightly. I was happy! I was glad he was acting like a lost puppy! I knew he loved to be this big, tough, mean alpha! Now he would have to look weak and vulnerable! Serves him right for what he did to me! ...To my family, my pack...

My eyes soon started to get heavy as I was exhausted from today. Exhausted from the crying and the running and hiding... My eyes slowly closed and I fell asleep leaning against the door.

I awoke the next morning and lifted my head from my shoulder where it had fallen. I had not been moved so that seemed like a good sign.

"Sapphire?" I heard a familiar voice, a voice I never wanted to hear again.

"Don't talk to me!" I spat. All of a sudden I heard the crying of a little girl. I leaped to my feet and swung the door open racing out. Gabriel stepped back so I wouldn't run into him. My eyes locked with dull, soft green orbs of fear which quickly turned to brighter, soft green orbs of joy.

"Sapphire!" "Lilly?!" We said in sync.

She began to struggle against the two strong men who didn't budge. I growled at them. "Let her go!" I raced up to Lilly. The two men let her go and she ran into my arms crying in my baby bump.

She was so thin, so fragil and small. "Lilly what happened?" I asked drawing away slightly. She yelped and pulled back in.

"They're gone Sapphire! They're gone!" She cried.

"Who is Lilly? Who?" I asked worried.

"It was just me, Paige, James, John, Hazel and Alex..." She cried. "John, Hazel, Paige and Alex wanted to go out to find another pack but me and James didn't want to go! We thought you would come back! We knew you always went on your morning runs so we figured you were just away when we were ambushed! But they wouldn't listen so they left us! James and I tried hunting but we rarely ever got anything... James... James..." Lilly burst out into tears. "James died Sapphire! He died! He's gone!" I hugged her tightly as my jaw dropped silent tears sliding down my checks.

I looked over at Gabriel with pure hate. I could never forgive him... I would never forgive him...
