Chapter 10

So I was thinking this over today... This book was started by a sinple, fantastic animation. Look how far it's come now! ;)

"Send out a patrol for the other pups." Gabriel looked over at the men. They nodded and walked off. 

I grabbed Lilly's hand and gently tugged her back to the room. She started to pull back as we neared Gabriel but I soothed her by telling her it would be ok. She raced behind me running into the room where I followed.

"Sapphi-" I cut him off by closing the door. I heard him sigh and bang on the door with his fist. I closed my eyes taking a deep breath, Lilly yelping and jumping up at the loud pound.

"Sapphire please!" He begged.

"I thank you for sending out the patrol for the other pups and finding Lilly but it doesn't mean I have forgotten what you did to the rest of my pack!" I snapped.

"I know... Sapphire I'm sorry! I wasn't the same person as I am now that I have pups! I've changed now! Please..." He begged.

"I don't even know if I trust you with my pups now Gabriel?! I really though maybe you changed but now I don't know!? You're abusive Gabriel! A killer!"

"Sapphire...." He whimpered. I sighed.

"Ten days..." I said.

"What?"

"I'll give you ten days... Only then can I push aside what you've done-if you can show me you've changed... I can not forget, nor can I forgive you...but I can push it aside..."

I heard him give a loud sigh of relief. "Can I co-"

"No." I cut him off sternly. "You can't come in... I don't intend to talk to you either... Not until the ten days are over at least..."

I turned from the door walking towards Lilly. I got on my knees to reach her height and placed my hands on her shoulders looking into her soft green eyes.

"It's going to be ok Lilly. Everything will be ok now." I soothed her.

"You're pregnant..." She looked down at my belly and I nodded looking down at my large baby bump too.

"I am." I gave a little smile.

"Are they pack blood?" She asked.

I shook my head. "They're mixed... They're Gabriel's..." Her brows furred with confusion.

"But why?!" She asked.

"Because I had to run away... I needed Gabriel to think I trusted him and in doing that I had to submit to the mate bond a little..." I didn't want to get to into detail with her because she was young but I knew she would budge me to tell her anyway.

"If you ran away why didn't you stay away?" She asked.

"Because I was caught. And then I was brought back here." I got up and smiled down at her. "Now, I'm going to take you to a friend of mine ok? His name is Dr. David, he's the pack doctor." Her eyes filled with fear.

"I don't want to see more of the pack!" She whimpered shaking her head and taking steps back.

"Shh." I soothed her. "Don't worry, I didn't want to either but Dr. David isn't like the rest of the pack. Don't worry, he's very kind." She was very hesitant but nodded and clenched my hand.

I brought her out the door where Gabriel popped up from the ground. "I'm bringing her to Dr. David..." I said simply. "Are you honestly just sitting there?" I asked.

"Yeah... I want to make sure you and the pups are ok..." He said. I narrowed my eyes at him.

"Oh, you mean the 'stupid' ones?" I growled.

"I didn't know Sapphire..." He sighed.

"It doesn't matter?! They're still your mates pups! You think your mate is gonna hate her pups because their not her mates? A mother will love her pups no matter what!" I snapped at him. "And you don't poss off a mother either Gabriel." I growled.

"Now, I'm taking Lilly to see David. Do shit, you're an alpha, I know you have work." I walked off without letting him say anything.

Lilly gripped my hand tighter once we had gotten to the pack room. When we got to the medical room it didn't change. She looked around with worry as I spoke to the lady behind the desk.

I took her to the sitting room and Dr. David soon came out. "Sapphire!" He greeted me. "You're not with Gabriel this time?" He looks down at Lilly with question.

He smiles and kneels down to reach her height. She grabs my arm and hides behind me peeking out only slightly. "And who might this little cutie be?" He smiled gently at her.

"A patrol brought her in today. She's a pup from my pack." We began to walk to the room. "Gabriel left her to die but after yesterday I guess he sent out a patrol... They brought Lilly back but she's so thin I just wanted to make sure she's ok." I explained.

"Yesterday?" David asked.

"The pups aren't a humans... They're Gabriel's... I told him last night before he could kill them and then he told me he killed my pack and left the pups to die.." Tears stung my eyes.

"He's really not a bad guy Sapphire..." David said making me scoff.  "He's just... he's just lost." I picked up Lilly carefully and placed her onto the bed.

As David did a check up on her, we talked. I could see Lilly gradually trust David and realize he was nothing like the nightmares of what happened that day everyone was killed.

"Well, all that needs to happen is she needs to eat, then she should be good." David said smiling.

He walked over to his drawers and opened one up. He pulled something out and then turned back to Lilly. "Now, I probably shouldn't be doing this because you need real food and not sweets but, you won't tell anyone right?" He loudly whispered.

"I won't tell anyone!" She smiled brightly and grabbed the lolly pop which had been what David grabbed.

I smiled as I watched Lilly hug David. Why couldn't Gabriel be more like that? Loving and caring? Kind and thoughtful? I sighed at the thought and then took Lilly back to the room.
