Grinning Man

I'm pushed backwards by the sudden force of the explosion where the Creeper used to be. Swiping my hands across the gravelly floor of the precinct's rooftops - I attempt to scuttle away from the flames. Whilst doing so, I instantly realise that the place where the gravel used to be is now stairwell - and that I can't crawl on thin air.

My head snaps backwards and my legs flail upwards in the air as I plummet downwards. With a frantic grappling motion, my hands try to grab onto something - anything; and then they clutch onto the only thing that I didn't want to touch. Leathery, thin flesh - a queasy jaundiced colour. A cackling lunatic's hand. Creeper swings my arm to the left, and I grunt in pain as I'm thrown into the side of the stairwell. Now seeing stars, I can't work out a way out of this situation.

Jack laughs viciously, and I can hear his bare feet dancing on the roof above me. I grit my teeth - and jam my eyes closed. I'm going to die. For a minute; a sudden sense of peace washes over me - and then I realise what's happened; the Creeper has let go of me.

With a painful thud, I land unceremoniously on the table beneath me, and Edward jumps backwards in shock. I briefly turn to face the shocked scientist, and then pass out...

Donna tasted blood in the back of her throat. Blood and whiskey. Her hand is clasped around a metal crowbar; and she swings it straight at the Creeper's grinning face. Jack dodges the clumsy swipe, but is then struck in the chest by a combat boot. He lurches backwards temporarily, and then spits a tooth out onto the gravel. His glazed eyes stare around; trying to find a way out of the situation. Not knowing any better: the remnants of his sanity latch onto the idea of scaling the pylon to his left. Donna takes a moment to breathe - and her eyes flick to the same place as Jack's. She smiles.

Wrenching a metal pipe off the roof of the precinct, and clutching her white-knuckled hands around its cold frame; she launches a final blow of the metal into the side of Jack's head. Donna hardly even flinches at the cracking sound that emanated briefly from the Creeper's jaw. The Creeper fell to the ground, and Donna could see his heels physically balling and waiting to jump.

Taking this opportunity, she thoroughly interrupted Jack by slamming the pipe down into his back. Jack howled in agony for a minute, and then turned around - his jaw hanging from his head - and jumped at Donna one more time. She gritted her teeth, and spat out a mouthful of blood: and then raked the bar one more time over Creeper's body. With a brief 'Ooh' sound, Jack fell backwards - and his back bent unnaturally over the pylon wire.
With a shriek - electricity pumped through his body and bones - and fried every last one.

Donna placed her hands on her knees and panted. She needed a drink.
