Life has been rough without Kaliyah.

I mean she ain't here to help me with all this shit.

Being a single parent harder than I thought. I give all the single parents props cause this shit ain't easy.

Me and the kids moved out of Compton and moved to Chicago.

After her death, I knew it wouldn't be safe for the kids.

(I know Chicago ain't that good of a place either).

We have been down here for about 4 months now and shit been good.

It's hard taking care of 3 kids, but I've had some help with someone I've been talking too.

"Zay, want me to take the kids to school and Daycare?" Kiara asked

"Yeah" I told Kiara

Me and Kiara been talking, she just a friend but I'm not gonna lie She sucked me up a few times

She the only one that's been helping me with the kids.

"Kaiden, Malani?!" I called out

They both came out there room with an attitude

"Fix y'all face... Kiara taking y'all to school" I told them

"No! I don't like her" Kaiden said

"Kaiden, don't talk back! Go put ya shoes on and get in the car" I said sternly

"I wanna live with Uncle Chris" he said

"Ight pack ya things then" I said

I wasn't gonna sit here and argue with him.

"I want my mom back" he said going in his room slamming the door

I rubbed my hands down my face

"If I'm causing too much trouble, I Can leave" Kiara said

"Yeah, I'll call you later" I said

My phone rung and it was Chris

"Wassup?" I answered dryly

"You don't sound too excited to talk to me... what's yo problem?" He asked

"Kaiden... he been acting different since Kaliyah. You know how Kiara been helping me right?" I asked Chris

"Yeah, what she do?? Deja needa whoop her ass?" He asked excited

"No... She offered to take the kids to school for me and Kaiden just out the blue yell no basically and then says he wants to live with you, so I told him to pack his shit, and now he mad" I said

I heard Chris laughing on the other line

"Tf is funny?" I asked looking at the phone then putting it to my ear

"Give lil man the phone" he said

I walked into Kaiden's room and he was sitting on his bed staring at the wall.

I handed him the phone

"Who dis?" He asked

"Get to ass down!!!" I heard Deja yell

"Aye aye! Why you yelling at him?" I asked Deja helping Anthony down from the counter

"His ass was trying to the candy on the top of the fridge" she said

I smacked my lips

Deja was more of the discipline parent than I was.

"Daddy!!!" Kelani and Camilla yell entering the kitchen

"Stop yelling!!" Deja yelled at them

They both tried to roll there eyes

"Don't make me pop yall" Deja said

"What y'all want?" I asked them

"Kelani said a curse word" Camilla said

"Nooo" Kelani cried

Camilla was the snitch of the entire family

"What she say?" Deja asked

"She said F-U-C-K" she spelt it out

"Where the fuck she here that from?" Deja asked turning her attention to them

I looked at her

"Ooo my bad" she said

I shook my head

"She heard mommy yell it... she said it sounded like she was in pain" Camilla said

I smirked to myself

She was in pain... she couldn't handle all of this Dick!!

"Oooo, mommy just hit her toe on the edge of the bed" Deja lied

"I make it better mommy" Kelani said going to Deja and kissing her foot

"Girl, don't kiss no one feet, that's nasty" Deja said

Kelani pouted

"I don't make mommy feel better?" She asked

"Yes I'm fine baby" she said picking her up

"Hey my beautiful family" KJ said walking in the kitchen

KJ was the more of the polite one in the family.

He had manners and spoke with proper grammar... I'm not sure how he belong in this family.

"All y'all go put ya shoes on so y'all can go to school" I said

They ran upstairs and I looked at Deja

"You realize you gonna have to tell them sooner or later right?" I asked her

"I know Chris... I just don't want to say anything now, we are all happy, I don't wanna ruin our moments" she said

"If you wait to long, there won't be any good moments" I told her walking away

Deja been hiding this shit from the kids for a few years but once it comes back for good she gonna have to speak up.
