Chapter Six

(Day Three)

After having a meeting in the cafeteria with Youngbae in the morning, Seungri was the first to leave. After saying goodbye to his hyungs and noona, Seungri qiuckly rushed to Seunghyun's ward.

After the incident on the previous day, Seungri had made a promise to Seunghyun that he will spent at least an hour with the boy if he had time. Seungri really felt sorry for the boy as he's the worst out of the five. Getting turned into some kind of freak just to fulfill those monsters needs.

As he opened the door, Seungri smiled as he saw Seunghyun already awake from his sound slumber, now looking out the window at the edge of the bed. With the sun shining directly down on Seunghyun, Seungri actually thought the boy was glowing as his smooth skin shoned under the light.

"Morning."

Instantly, Seunghyun whipped his head from the window and looked at Seungri before nodding his head at the officer. Seungri knew that the boy was being cautious around him after experiencing such a traumatic past.

"So, have you eaten??"

Seungri knew that he was asking a rhetorical question as he had already noticed the untouched plate of food at the bedside-counter. But as the kid's future guardian,Seungri knew he had to take steps in order to let the other to be comfortable around him.(Seungri was the only one that had signed the papersworks for Seunghyun on the day the incident happened.)

"Can't eat. My jaw's locked."

This was the second time Seungri had heard the kid's voice. Unlike the first time, this voice was hard and deep, like a tiger's growl, while the one that Seungri heard on that day was like a helpless kitten, hopeless without its mother. Seungri hummed as he looked at Seunghyun who was trying to fix his locked jaw by closing them for a while than opening them after that.

Seungri grinned at the kid's action. Through his own experience, he knew that this would only add salt to wound.

"Close your jaw and start moving your lower jaw sideways." (I don't know 'bout you guys but this method seems to work on me)

At first, Seunghyun ignored him. But, after a while, Seunghyun reluctantly followed Seungri's advice, which turned to be effective as his could finally move his jaws freely with no pain. Seungri chuckled at Seunghyun's gleeful expression than proceeded to just lay back on his chair while filing his never-ending paperworks. What can you possibly do in a hospital anyway??

Seunghyun stared at the files on Seungri's hand and was curious to find his name on a few. After the  experiments that the scientists done on him to make him have these cat-like parts, his eyesight has grown so clear that it could even see those small words when Seungri is a little far away from where Seunghyun is.

"Huh. Ji Yong hyung's right. His eyesight did evolve into ones like a cat's."

Seungri thought as he peeked at Seunghyun from the corner of his eyes. Seungri's tough training as a field officer has made his senses more sharper than an average human and can even outdone a professionally trained assassin, whose senses are supposed to be as sharp as an predatory animal. As Seungri ran though the files, his eyes had never leaved Seunghyun in order to see the younger's reaction. Until a certain page made the boy's cat ears stand straight up.

"Found something interesting I presume??"

Seungri's mouth twitched upwards into a smirk as he saw Seunghyun's surprised at being caught staring and than turned to look at the neko on the hospital bed.

"Here you go. All the list of the remaining survivors are here. "

Seungri gently placed a purple file onto Seunghyun's blanket-covered lap and went back to filing his paperworks again, eyes not leaving Seunghyun during the whole process.
Seunghyun tensed as his hands slowly reached to open the file.

"If you're not ready, than don't open it. I won't force you."

Seungri said gently as he placed his paperworks down on the counter next to him and leaned on the side of the hospital table.

"Want me to open it for you??"

Seeing the other nodding his head slowly with fear of losing his friends evident in his eyes, Seungri couldn't helo but sighed as he reached out for the file.

"Remaining survivors: Four girls, two boys. Starting with the eldest to the youngest. Park Bom. Sandara Park, Choi Seunghyun, Kang Daesung, Lee Chae Rin and lastly, Gong Minzy. "

Seungri kept the file into his bag that was placed on the floor beside his chair. Seeing Seunghyun was suddenly in tears, Seungri knew something was wrong.

"Yah.... You okey??"

"I'm(Sob)I'm fine."

Seunghyun said between sniffles and sobs as he wiped his flowing tears with his hands. Frowning, Seungri took a cloth and than wiped Seunghyun's covered-in-tears-face which the other was shocked at the other's reaction.

"I couldn't help it. I can't stand to see kids like you crying so sad. I had a friend in high school once. He was a tall, good-looking boy who was my best friend in school even though our age gap were very far. I guess something happened to him, because he disappeared mysteriously one day. On the day of his disappearance, most of his friends cried. Seeing those tear-stricken face and hearing those sad wails, I decided to become a police to find that friend and ensure everybody that he was safe and sound."

Seunghyun never thought that the officer in front of him could just tell all this to a survivor of mad scientists experiments. The boy thought that Seungri was usually the sort of guy who would always keep his feeling to himself and always wished the best to others.

"Did you found him??"

Seunghyun's sidden question made Seungri looked up and with a smile, the elder said:

"Yeah. I did found him."

Seunghyun went silent after that. So, Seungri than took the oppoturnity to try asking a few question.

"Tell me, do you still remember the memories before you got kidnapped??"

Seunghyun's cat ears perked up at that.

"No. Other than my name and those memories, I still can't remember anything else."

Seungri sighed as he ruffled Seunghyun's hair which the other tensed up at first at the contact but relaxed when it wasn't meant to be harmful.  After a few hours talking, Seunghyun was tired and eventually fell asleep during one of Seungri's stories. The officer smiled as he ruffled Seunghyun head before leaving the ward.

"Yes. I did found him. He's now lying on a hospital bed and now one of the survivors that I was assigned to take care of. His name was Choi Seunghyun, my sweet, innocent boyfriend in highschool."
