It's Okey, You're Here With Me

Chapter Nine

A slight breeze blew through the opened window of the ward that Gummy was in, making her long, wavy hair flew.

"Aish...."

Gummy groaned out as she proceeded to tie her hair into a small bun.

"Maybe I should cut it shorter."

Gummy sighed as she finished the process.

"You okey, Dara-sshi??"

Gummy smiled as she looked at the now woken up Sandara Park, who was now eating a bowl of porridge. The two had already made a short self-introduction and was now in a comfortable silence.

"I'm okey, Gummy unnie."

Dara smiled as she replied Gummy and continued to finish her meal. After finishing the entire bowl of the porridge, Gummy offered to throw the plastic bowl away.

"Unnie, mind if I ask something??"

Gummy looked up from her own set of paperworks and smiled at the girl.

"Are the two of us the only survivors??"

"Anni. There are four others too."

"Mind if I ask their names??"

"Not at all. Along with you and Bommie here, there are also two more boy and two more girls. Choi Seunghyun, Kang Daesung, Lee Chae Rin and Gong Minzy."

Dara smiled and a relieved sigh escape herself, knowing that her own set of friends are still alive.

"Oh... I gotta run an errand. I'm giving this AI watch to you for safety. If anything happens, just call me."

Gummy took out a grey watch that was similar to her black watch. Dara thanked the older and smiled. After Gummy left, Sandara was left on her own.

'Beep!'

Dara stared at the watch when it beeped and curiously, pressed the blinking red dot. A blue hologrom face of a man showed up which startled Dara.

"Don't be afraid. My name is SOL, your personal AI. Madam Gummy made me just for you. Your wish is my command."

SOL smiled at the still startled girl. Dara was immediatelly fascinated by the high-tech watch and the two swiftly drifted into conversation.

"SOL-sshi, I wanna ask something."

"Of course, madam. What is it that you want to ask??"

"What happened to us??"

SOL blinked before explaining:

"Exactly one week after you have woken up, one of the survivors, Choi Seunghyun have sent a S.O.S message to the SPD. As soon as the SPD located your location, they have sent their best squad to find you. Out of the 100 patients, only six managed to survived."

"Ohhh...."

Dara nodded slowly at SOL's explanation and thanked the AI.

"No need to thank me, madam. It is my duty to answer to your every command. "

SOL smiled as he bowed his head a little. Dara smiled at the AI.

"But, there is something that I am curious about you, madam."

"What is it, SOL?"

"Truth be told, Madam Gummy had told me to ask you something when she programmed me. Madam Gummy wants to know what is it that had make you invulnerable to fire."

Dara blinked and blankly stared at the AI. After downing a bottle of water, Dara sighed than said:

"When I was in one of the experiments room, one of the doctors named Phil, had injected me with a orange glowing fluid. After that, they made me go into a chamber with fire in it. I thought they were gonna burn me alive, but when I walked through the waves of the fire, I realised I didn't even feel the heat and the fire didn't even graze me."

"Which means the orange fluid that they injected you had made you invulnerable to fire."

"And also pain."

"So, you're a mutant now."

"Basically."

Dara sighed as she flopped down on her bed. Dara turned her head over to face her unnie, Park Bom, who is still unconscious.

"Are you alright, madam??"

Seeing Dara's frown, SOL said with a worried tone.(Yes, I know that machines don't have emotions but deal with it!)

"I'm okey. Just a little sad."

"Is there anything that I could do to lift up your spirits??"

Dara put a finger on her chin as she was deep in thought.

"Could you play some music?? I kinda like some soft ones."

"If that is your wish."

SOL's face disappeared into the watch and pretty soon, the song came on and Dara hummed to it and looked out the window, hoping for a better life after getting out of that place.

Kwon Ji Yong nearly growled as he. Was. So. Bored!!! Unlike the others, he doesn't need to file and finish paperworks during his spare time. He's a cyber police, he does his paperworks in a computer. And unlike the others, he could finish them within an hour. Ji Yong huffed as he placed his head on his knees that were drawned up to his chest and stared at the girl, still unconscious on the hospital bed.

His phone beeped twice. And beeping twice meant urgent messages. Ji Yong whipped up his phone from his jeans's pocket and light the device up.

Seungri:*Gummy noona's girl, Sandara Park is awake. She went to run an errand. Wants you to deliver the report to Commissioner Yang.*

Ji Yong:*Why me??*

Seungri:*Cause she said so. I'm pretty sure you're bored half to death there.*

Ji Yong:*Very helpful. Thanks, Ri. Do remind me that I still have your photos taken when you were drunk last month and post it on Insta.*

Seungri:*You wouldn't.*

Ji Yong:*I would if you could just shut up by now.*

Ji Yong smirked when the younger didn't reply anymore. Putting his phone back, he sighed as he laid his head on the chair and hummed a random tune.

'I wish she was here... Probably knacked me about my laziness....'

Ji Yong laughed to himself as he thought.

'And probably drag my ass to the nearest computer and play some random multiplayer game together...'

Unknown to himself, a tear fell from Ji Yong's face as he played with his fingers.

'Than after a couple of wins, the two of us should be already back home and lounging on the couch, probably watching some cheap crap before going to bed.....'

Until the tears pool at his hands did Ji Yong knew he was crying. Crying over his own thoughts. Crying over....her. Wiping the tears with the back of his hand, Ji Yong whipped up his phone and went to check for any messages. Seeing none of those, Ji Yong covered his eyes hands before dozing into a light slumber. As he closed his eyes, he briefly saw an image of a girl smiling at himself.

'Chae Rin.....'
