Chapter Twelve

(Day Eight)

"Morning."

The first thing that Daesung heard as he woke up was the soft greetings of both Minzy and Dong Wook. Daesung smiled and sat up on his bed, nodding his thanks when Minzy handed him a cup of water.

"Feeling any better, Daesung??"

Dong Wook said as he ruffled the boy's blonde hair. Daesung smiled as he nodded which made Dong Wook smiled. Just than, a nurse came in with a knock of the door. Nodding at Dong Wook, the nurse checked on Daesung and took off Daesung's head bandage after making sure the wound had healed.

"Do sign here, Mr. Choi and Daesung and Minzy can leave."

The nurse pointed at a spot for Dong Wook before leaving the room. After Minzy heard what the nurse said, her eyes went wide and smile widely.

"Does that mean we're leaving??"

"Yes, Minzy-ah. My boss had prepared an apartment for you guys to stay."

"Yippee!! Does it have a swimming pool, a playground...."

Hearing Minzy's rambling her thoughts excitedly, Dong Wook smiled and let the teenaged girl continue. Daesung's eyes were also sparkling as the word 'apartment' intriuged him.

"Come on, let's pack up your things and meet up with the rest before we leave."

"Okey! Wait, the rest?? You mean.."

At this, Minzy and Daesung shared a glance with each other before looking at Dong Wook. Dong Wook blinked at the sudden stares the two gave and raised an eyebrow when the two suddenly jump excitedly.

"Yes!!! We're gonna meet Seunghyun oppa and the others!"

Minzy said and the two danced in a circle while chanting the names of the others. Dong Wook's eyes went wide as if he realized something and smiled when the two hugged him.

"Come on, let's go."

Dara was happily chatting with her A.I, SOL that Gummy gave her when she heard a cough from across the room. She had immediately jumoed down from her bed and rushed to Bom's side.

"SOL, qiuck!! Contact Gummy unnie or someone!!"

Dara said as she started to panic when Bom started to cough very hard. SOL immediately contacted the hospital officials at Dara's orders and in mere seconds, two doctors followed by four nurse came rushing into the room.

"Miss Park, I must ask you to step aside."

One of the nurses said as she led Dara to wait by her own bed while the other were already checking on Bom's condition. In complete shock, Dara couldn't speak as she kept staring at Bom's bed which was now covered by the curtains. Sensing her body temperature increasing rapidly, SOL came online and a red light kept beeping.

"Miss Park, please calm down!! Your body temperature...."

"Sandara, calm down!!"

At the sound of Gummy's voice, Dara looked away from Bom's bed and immediately hugged Gummy as she cried. Gummy hissed slightly at how hot Dara's skin felt but didn't comment on it as she tried to calm Dara.

After a few minutes, one of the doctors came out and putting on a small, comforting smile, he said:

"Miss Park here is fine. The reason for her sudden attack was because her throat was too dry and she got a asthma attack. I recommend you tell your head for her to stay a few more days before transfering out. From her condition, she is not well to leave yet."

As Gummy accessed the information in her mind, she nodded and thanked the doctor. Calling out Tablo, she sent a message to Dong Wook about Bom's condition before sitting beside Dara.

"You all right??"

"Yes, Gummy unnie."

Dara said as she smiled reassuringly. Even though Gummy didn't bought it, she only smiled back and the two settled ina comfortable silece with soft music playing in the background, courtesy of SOL.

"Achoo!!"

Seungri raised an eyebrow as Seunghyun released yet another sneeze.

"Caught the cold??"

"You think?? Achoo!!"

Seunghyun sneezed again and grabbed the tissue that was handed out by Seungri. Seunghyun mumbled a thanks to the police officer and lay back down onto the bed. Seungri looked up from his mission reports to look at Seunghyun before standing up and called a nurse. Pretty soon, Sean followed by a nurse came in pushing a cart full of medicine. The doctor immediately went to check on Seunghyun's condition.

"Well, well, seems like Seunghyun here had caught the flu. Make sure he have this before he goes to sleep."

Sean said as he handed Seungri a bottle of medicine. Seungri nodded as he took the bottle of medicine without looking up from his reports. Sean smiled looking at  Seungri when the other packed his paperworks away and proceeded to give Seunghyun the flu medicine. Swallowing the pill with a disgusted look on his face, Seunghyun put the cup down by the bed-size table and went to sleep when Sean told him to rest.

"I suppose you have something to tell me?"

Seungri said as he looked up to look at Sean in the eye, who was ushering the nurse out of the room before turning to face his son.

"Chae Rin's awake. And it looks like I could probably guess what those guys inserted these six kids with."

Sean pressed something on his laptop and outcame a screen which showed a blue serum in a cillinder-shaped bottle. Seungri took a closer look at it and read the description below.

"Its a serum that was created by Jinu and I. It was used to heal wounds rapidly and can be even used to cure cancer. You could say we had created the perfect medicine. But, it did have some effects...."

Sean swiped the computer screen to reveal a video. It showed Sean injecting an injured white mouse with the mutagen. The mouse squeaked when it felt its wounds recovering, but than started to shiver violently. Another man, which was Jinu, appeared in the screen to inspect the mouse with Sean by his side, holding a syringe filled with green liqiud.

The mouse squeked loudly as it suddenly ran so fast that it was almost impossible to see it. Jinu than qiuckly took out a device which beeped loudly, causing the mouse to stop and fainted with a piercing shriek. Sean than had immediately injected the mouse with the syrunge before the video ended.

"Dad..."

"Yes, son. We created the perfect medicine, and had also created a perfect weapon. As soon as we realized this, we had immediately created that green fluid. It was to stop the effects of the blue mutagen we created."

"So, we can actually turn them back to normal humans now??"

"Sadly, no. The mutagen and the green fluid were destroyed when the fire broke out a few years back. We lost everything."

"Shit...."

Seungri sighed as he leaned his head on Seunghyun's bed. Staring at the two white-hair boys in the room, Sean couldn't help but smile.

"Well, I'll be taking my leave. Have a good night rest, okey?? I don't want those panda eyes on you during breakfast tomorrow."

Seungri hummed his answer and Sean left the room, his smile never leaving his face. The moment the door closed with a click, Seungri let out a gentle smile and kissed Seunghyun's forehead, before drifting off to sleep with Seunghyun hand enveloped by his own.
