Epilogue
“Hurry up, Jordan. We haven’t got forever.” I chided from the car. He made his way over to the car from the door in a slow strut and I glared at him.
“Yeah, Mum. I’ve been waiting forever.” Kayleen replied dramatically from the back seat and I sighed.
Kyler laughed from beside me in the driver’s seat. “Relax, your aunt probably knows we’ll be late. She’s pretty much used to it. Plus, we all know how he is.”
“Well, look who finally decided to join the family in the car.” I muttered as he slid into the back seat with his sister.
“Chill, Mum. Aunty Sherey won’t mind if we’re late.” He drawled and I gave him another glare.
“Yeah, but it would be nice to be on time for once.” I shot back as Kyler began to drive to Sherey’s.
“Mum, did you bring along the presents?” Kayleen asked from the back seat.
“Yeah, there’s in the back.” I informed as the wind began to blow into car from my window. “At least they’re safe this year.” I mocked and she groaned.
“It was an accident and Dad suddenly opened the window when I was holding up the crystal up against the window to look through it. The wind caught me by surprise so I accidently let go of it!”
“Yeah and we were two hours late that time.” I glared at both of them.
“And you say that I make the family late.” Jordan scoffed.
“You took up a quarter of those two hours.” I retorted.
“Reni.” Kyler warned carefully as he slowed down at a red light.
“How is it my fault? I’m telling them that they’re the reason we’re always late.” I scowled at him.
“I know. I was just going to say that we can just remove a privilege from them instead of arguing.” He glanced into the rear view mirror to gauge their reaction.
“No way!” Jordan protested leaning as far forward as he could.
“No, what? Dad!” Kayleen cried at the same time.
“You did that last year!” They shrieked together.
I grinned slyly. “How about credit card privilege this time?” I suggested to Kyler.
“That sounds wicked! I’ll make the call after the dinner.” We laughed as we heard the groans from the backseat.
“Mum! Dad!” They whined but we shook our heads.
“That’s final.” We sang together as they started blaming each other.

“Sherey, Merry Christmas!” I squealed as I saw her standing in the driveway.
“Merry Christmas to you too!” She greeted as I hugged her.
“Bill!” I smiled at him and he nodded back as Kyler began to lead him away. Sherey had married him at a year after we had and Grace-Kelly was just about the same age as Jordan.
“How’s my dearest niece?” I asked as I pulled Grace-Kelly into a hug. Yup, I guess you never know with Sherey. When I first heard it, I carefully checked to make sure that she was actually using them both as a first name. After knowing her for so long, I guess the fact that she can still do things that surprise me speaks for itself.
“As good as always.” She pulled away slowly and grinned up at me. “Merry Christmas Aunty.”
“Merry Christmas.” I grinned at her and held out a neatly wrapped box. She took it eagerly and gave me another quick hug.
