Kyoko POV
The next day, Kazuya had asked why I was acting weird yesterday and I just shook him off saying it was nothing. I guess that means Chris hasn't mentioned anything. Well I hope not.
It was now dinner and I was sat in the dining hall listening to Sawamura go on about Chris' way of teaching. I was practicing with Miyuki and Furuya today so I didn't get to observe them, but I will get around to it. It helps me anyway because I want to distance myself from Chris.
"Hey Kyo-chan wanna look at some score books with me later?" Miyuki asked, taking a seat next to me starting to eat his first bowl of rice.
"Yeah sure, I'm gonna throw some balls to Yuki-senpai first so it will probably take like half an hour, is that cool?".
"That's fine, I said I would catch for Furuya for a bit. No surprise there." I laughed and nodded, it was true he was always being asked to do such things for his underclassmen which I found quite comical.
After we had finished our meals, Kazuya left and I went to the table where some of the third years were.
"Well well, 'Kyo-chan' I thought you said there was nothing between you and Miyuki, you looked pretty cosy to me." Ryosuke mocked, making me sigh. He always made sly comments whenever I spoke to Miyuki.
"Yeah, you two going out?" Jun-san bluntly ask, taking me off guard.
"No. For the last time, I do not like Kazuya." I pouted, I couldn't help it.
"Don't make that face in front of your Kazuya, bet he wouldn't be able to control himself." Ryo-senpai teased, again. There is no winning with him. I hit his head forward, making him almost head butt his food.
"Now that this conversation is over, you ready Yuki-senpai?" Just looking at the Captain now, he simply nodded and stood from his seat.
"Yes, lets go."
Me and Yuki-senpai spent quite some time practicing. Me just sitting on a stool throwing some balls to him while he hit them perfectly into the net. I was quite jealous, he really is a good batter-and captain.
"Ah Yuki-san, I need to go meet Miyuki now, I'll see you tomorrow." I smiled while saying my goodbyes.
"Thanks Kyoko for helping." He simply replied patting me on the head.
Now where is that idiot?
Walking towards the dorms, I saw Furuya.
"Hey Furuya, where is Miyuki?." I asked making the tall male to look at me.
"To get the score books from the office." He replied with he familiar uninterested tone.
"Ah ok thanks." Well, at least I know where he is now. I wonder why he asked to look through them with me? Probably just want to test my baseball knowledge again knowing Kazuya.
When I got close to the office, there was a loud bang from inside and someone speaking not long after. I couldn't make all of the words but I definitely heard "cannot forgive that."
Is that Miyuki?
Soon after, Miyuki leaves the room with a deadly aura surrounding him. I've never seen him like this before. Something must have seriously annoyed him.
Spotting me, Kazuya walks up to me keeping his head down. "Sorry Kyoko. Not really in the mood right now, I'll see you tomorrow." Before I could respond he begins to walk away. What happened in there to make him like this?
"Wait Kazuya!" I ran up to him, placing my hand in his arm. "What happened? I'm worried right now." I looked at him, noticing him soften up a little again.
"Just something was said which really didn't sit right with me." I didn't know what was said so I could really give any advice and I don't think asking what happened would make anything better. I just kept my grip on his arm and started to pull him along.
"Come on Kazuya~" Laughing while I extended him name.
"Wait, where are we going?" He seemed shocked but also interested at the same time.
"You said, were going to look at the score books." I faced him giving him a small smile, still dragging him along.
"The dorms are that way?" Miyuki pointed to the opposite direction we were heading.
"I know, were not going there."
"Where?" He asked. Too many question Kazuya.
"Just shut up and follow." I giggled, making my way out of the school. Miyuki's arm still in my grasp.
We finally reached my apartment complex, I made my way through the lobby going up the stairs, Miyuki following close behind.
"Where are we?" He hesitates. I wanted to giggle because he's sound pretty cute when he's nervous.
"I live here." I finally responded while reaching the top of the stairs.
"Wait, were going to your house? Is ok with your parents?" It looked like Miyuki didn't want to ask, he must have remembered the conversation we had about my bad relationship with them.
"It's fine. I live on my own." I giggled taking account of his nervous look while unlocking my door. "What? You've never been alone with a girl before?" I teased letting him in. He didn't answer, just had a faint blush across his cheeks. I guess I was right.
"Pardon the intrusion." Miyuki politely stated, taking off his shoes.
"Don't worry, just make yourself at home. I'll get us some drinks." I walked into the kitchen grabbing two Cola's from the fridge and a large bag of chips.
When I came back to the living room, I saw Miyuki sitting on the sofa looking at the book intently. "Here." I passed him a can and took a seat next to him. We talked about baseball and issues which needed to improve while looking at the scorebook. Of course, as Miyuki was holding it on his lap I had moved over and sat closer to him, our legs brushing up against each other here and there.
"Thanks Kyo-chan for today you really know how to cheer someone up." Kazuya smiled facing away from the book and looking at me.
"It's fine. You count on me." I gave a wide smile, which even made my eyes almost close. This made Miyuki blush a little, I guess we were a bit to close to each other.
"Well, I should be getting back now." He stated and we both stood up and made our way to the door.
I don't know what on, but Miyuki tripped forward and lost his balance. He bumped in to me and we both went flying. My head was about to crash on the floor but a unfamiliar warmth engulfed me and I only felt pain on my butt. My eyes winched in pain but I quickly opened them again. Well this was an awkward sight.
Miyuki was lying on top on me, hands wrapped around my neck and head and faces inches apart. What was more awkward was the eye contact we made. Both of use didn't know what to do in this situation and just stayed there a bit longer then needed, until Miyuki broke the tension and scuffled up.
"I'm sorry, are you ok?" Kazuya held out his hand to me and pulled me up.
I wiped my self down not looking him in the face. I knew my checks were going to be a bit flushed so I needed a few seconds to get myself together. "Yeah I'm fine, I'm glad I could be your cushioning so you didn't hurt yourself." Sarcasm evidently clear in my voice, I started to laugh to get rid of this weird atmosphere.
"Aha, yeah sorry though. But-yeah anyway I should go. See you tomorrow Kyo-chan." Kazuya stuttered picking up the fallen scorebook, put on his shoes and made his way out the door.
"Bye!" I waved, seeing him out but as soon as I closed the door my hand went across my mouth and my cheeks began to flair.
My heartbeat became irregular and wouldn't stop.Little did I know that Miyuki was in the exact same predicament.
Cliché I know...😅
