Kyoko POV- (unedited cuz I was making noodles while writing)
I woke up, the next day as my alarm rang loudly in my ear. I didn't get much sleep last night because of the events that kept playing in my head.
The meeting with my mom, Tanba's accident, truths about my injury getting out to Aniki and the argument with Miyuki.
However, the embrace with the said catcher was on my mind the most. I don't know the reason, but I felt so safe in his arms. It felt like all the worries from that day just disappeared. Speaking and joking with Kazuya was a great way to lift my spirits.
After I finished getting ready, I grabbed a cereal bar and walked out of the door. My phone beeped showing I had received a new message. Mei again?
I was stood corrected as I saw I was coach who write a simple text. "Meeting in 15 minutes." I sighed, he could of give me some warning before hand, I picked up my pace walking to Seido at a fast rate.
Walking to the field I saw most of the members already present, minus Tanba.
"Okay I have some news." Coach declared walking out of the dugout.
"Tanba has got a fractured chin, he won't be able to play for a month." When this was aid the whole team began to look nervous. "Therefore, Kawakami were relying on you. Furuya aswell." Coach paused and then looked towards Sawamura. "And if I see fit, get ready to go in anytime Sawamura.
"Yes Boss!" He shouted, I'm glad he's still lively as ever even with this gloomy atmosphere.
"Also, this may be my personal feelings in the way but I'm still getting in the way, but I'm still going to give Tanba the Ace number." After a small prep talk the team replied with a loud 'Yes Sir' agreeing on what was said.
"Lastly-" Coach raised his voice again as it looked like some people were ready to walk off. "I have already spoke to Kyoko, she must not even touch a bat. She is badly injured, so please refrain from asking her to do anything physical. That is all." Now a lot of eye were on me, as I just scratched the back of my neck awkwardly.
Small murmurs could be heard like "Woah, wtf? She hit a homerun while injured-that's crazy." I would laugh, but this wasn't the right situation.
"You're all dismissed." Coach finally said and walking away, I didn't feel like speaking to him yet as I believe I was in the right regarding out discussion last night.
People start to make there way to class and someone runs up to me from behind me.
"Hey Kyo-chan, you okay?" You see Kazuya and the thought of last night comes to mind straight away.
"Haha-yeah I'm fine, just bummed I can't play." I awkwardly chuckled.
"Well, you should get better first, then you can play as much as you want without holding back."
I just simply agree, not wanting to explain the whole situation.
"Come on a cheer up." Kazuya wraps his arm round my neck in a friendly matter, but I instantly feel a bit nervous. Is it hot today or what? This action seemed to turn a few heads, I guess Kazuya is really popular and doesn't show this type of affection.
"Don't worry, if I ever feel to upset, I just double your practice." I tease and nudge his side.
"Wow, sadistic much." He laughs his arm still around me. I guess we had some good vibes going on between us because I received a lot of jealous looks, but I didn't notice too much. Being with Kazuya was too much fun.
We got to the classroom and took our seats, having small conversations while we waited for the teacher.
"Hey Miyuki-kun." A high pitched voice rudely interrupted us.
"Oh, hey Rio-san, what's up?" Miyuki asks, not really interested, but not ignoring her either.
"Oh I'm sorry for interrupting-i can come back?" She asks looking at me.
"No it's fine go ahead." I smile, but I don't like her already for some reason.
"Oh thanks Kyoko-San, I appreciate it." She now turns around to Miyuki and proceeds. "Well it's my little brothers birthday next week, and he really like baseball. I looked at bats and I don't know if I should get him a metal or wooden, so I just wanted to ask what better." She smiled innocently.
"Oh, I would say metal, it would be easier to use." He simply replies, and she nods.
"Okay! Thanks Miyuki-kun." She nods slightly and goes back to her seat.
I felt a bit relieved, it seemed as if he treats me kind of differently to other girls, I don't know if that's because if he thinks of my as one of the guys, or if there is anything special there.
Yes. I think I've come to the conclusion I have slight feelings for Kazuya.
Class ending and a waved goodbye to Kazuya, as well as Kuramochi and left to the other floor for my lessons.
-Time Skip-
The day went quite slow, as all my lesson were really boring. However, it was now the end of the day so I made my way to the baseball field being on of the first arrive.
I went to the female toilets and changed into the Seido uniform. As I left I looked up to the sky to see the clouds have darkened. Woah, look likes it going to rain.
I saw Aniki which knocked me out of my thoughts, he just glanced at me and walked away. Oh so he's giving me the silent treatment, I guess two can play that game.
Practice went on as usual, me giving some tips to the first string players on how to improve there batting. It was so agitating to watch but not part take.
"Kyo-chan, you eating here today?" Miyuki was suddenly in front of me, and I just nodded. I can't deny him. "Great, well I'm going to take a shower, I meet you in there. Save me a space." He gave a little wink and then walked off, making me blush.
Damn that catcher. He really is a ladies man.
I walked to the cafeteria and grabbed some rice and someone served me the main part of the meal. I sat on an empty table, to make sure there was going to be room for Kazuya.
A few minutes had passed and Miyuki finally enters the room, grabbing his room and sitting to my right.
His hair was still wet, and boy did that look hot. Even though I wanted to look more it wasn't a good idea.
I took the towel out of my bag and threw it on his head, rubbing it a little. "You're gonna catch a cold, use it. Don't worry it's clean." The catcher looked from the side of the towel to see my grin, which he reciprocated.
"Wow, smells like you. It's nice." I laughed and my smile didn't leave except I instantly felt happier.
Dinner went on, Furuya, Sawamura and Haruichi had joined us and we went on with our conversations.
"Oh man, just when we needed extra practice, it's raining so much outside." Jun moaned.
The majority of the players either went to the weight lifting room or indoor batting centre, where the rest went to their dorms. I was about to go home until I saw Kazuya walking alone in the rain. I ran up behind him, running through a puddle by accident, splashing all on us.
"Hey! I just got out the shower." He groaned, but I could help but laugh, as he got dirty straight away.
"It's not funny Kyo-chan I-" Before he could finish he slipped on the mud landing on his butt and his left hand getting covered in mud.
This sent me over the edge and I couldn't stop laughing.
"Oh you've done it now." Miyuki said standing up, about to wipe the mud on my face. I yelled getting away from him, and started to run, with him closing in behind me.
Before I knew it he has wiped mud on to my cheek and just started to laugh at me, walked away from me, but still looking. I wiped the majority of mud off my face and began to chase him to return the favour.
"Don't think your getting away Kazuya."' I yelled.
"You won't even be able to catch me." He giggled, still running. This made me pick up speed now close behind him, I jumped into his back placing my hand on his forehead.
Before I knew it he had swung my body around so we were super close, just like the other night at mine.
Before I knew it, Miyuki hand came into contact with my clean cheek and he brought our faces together, kissing me.
My eyes were still wide, until I got into the kiss. It was slow at first, but my arms travelled to his waist and the kiss started to become more heated. Our mouths were slightly open, but no tongues were exchanged. When we finally pulled away, Miyuki was looking at me smirking.
"Lets go on a date next week Kyo-chan." All I could do was nod and he just smiled. "Good, well I gotta go to take another shower, later Kyoko~~" he dragged out my name and all I could was blush.
The god damn ladies man.
