6- Annoying Compromise

Kyoko POV

(Sorry if the events are moving quickly, just doing it for the storyline)
It was now the next day and the events of last night still were on my mind, me and Miyuki were so close, it was kind of hard to believe. I'm going to act like nothing happened though and I hope he's the same. Otherwise I think things would start to turn awkward.
I put on my baseball uniform and make my way to school, yawning in the process. Today was going to be a long day, there was going to be a few matches against other teams in preparation for the summer. Yes, it was going to give me a good idea of some of the rival teams and how they played however if Inashiro was going to present like I heard they was, this wasn't going to be an enjoyable day for me. I would much rather not meet him at the moment.
I made it to the school grounds and it seemed so much more quite compared to the week days.
"Ah Kyoko you're here, we are leaving soon so go to the bus in the parking lot." Rei stated as she saw me and I gave a quick thanks. I started to see a few more people one being Sawamura.
"Hey Sawamura, you got everything?" I asked and greeted at the same time.
"Oh hey Kyoko-yeah I'm just waiting for Haruichi." He gleamed and I nodded making my way onto the bus, which was quite empty. I guess everyone was still getting there stuff together. I took out my phone and earphones and put on some music to make the time pass.
The bus started to get more packed and I felt a presence sit next to me, making me turn to look.
"Oh hi Ryo-san, I thought you would be sitting with the others?" I glanced back seeing most of the main squad sitting towards the back.
"Oh but we have something to discuss." He gave me another one of his smirks. This wasn't going to be good...
"Really? I don't think much has happened since yesterday for you to personally approach me like this." I smiled, even though he could sense my subtle hostility-when Ryosuke makes that face it's never a good sign.
"Nothing happened? Really? Because I saw you and a certain catcher last night quite close. You even dragged him out of the school gates. Not to mention he came back in a hurry and looked quite flustered." My eyes widen and I feel my face heat up a little. Why did he have to remind me of that? I regain my composure and let out a small breath.
"I don't know what you mean, we simply went to mine to look at some score books, and about him rushing back I have no clue, ask him not me." I smiled, but he could tell it meant not to mention it again.
"Oh ok, seems like I will." He looked to the front of the bus and Miyuki had just walked on. Worst timing.
"Hey Miyuki, are you a Kyoko going out?" Surprising me, I started to cough. This obviously brought attention to everyone on the bus and it was now silent.
Everyone was looking at Miyuki for and answer.
"What you mean? Me and Kyo-chan are just friends. Besides I already like someone, so you can stop your teasing now Ryosuke." He just smiled and walked further back taking a seat next to Furuya.
"Well I guess I was wrong, sorry Kyoko." He smiled and then went to sit next to Kuramochi. I'm going to get him back for that.
I don't know why but I suddenly felt really annoyed and have no idea what could be the reason. Must be from Ryosuke...
I played my music again, and leaned against the window closing my eyes. The bus began to drive and I just waited until we arrived.

We got to the stadium and I was one of the first off the bus, so I grabbed the bag of medical supplies from the side of the bus where everyone's belonging were stored. Walking into the stadium I took a seat and looked at the field. Damn I was jealous of the guys getting to play.
I felt like this day couldn't get any worse. I thought to soon...
"Kyoko, were all gathering in the dug out because coach is going to explain what the schedule is." I heard Kuramochi yell a little further away. I followed not that far behind him leaving the door to make my way to the dugout.
On my way there, I saw Sawamura being kicked by Kuramochi and Miyuki speaking to someone else. Someone from another team?
I got closer and heard they were talking about Furuya. Suddenly a certain blonde notices me and wipes his eyes. Checking if I'm really here? Of course I would run into him...
"Oh my KYOKO! What are you doing here?" Mei shouted, running past Miyuki and the others and tackles me in a hug. This left the others in quite a confusion.
"Okay Mei, you can let go now." I stated as I patted him on the back, making sure he knew I wanted to be released from this death grip of his.
"You guys know each other?" Miyuki asked, as we were now surrounded by the others.
"Yeah, she's my girlfriend." Everyone's eyes widen, including my own while Mei has a triumphant look upon his face.
"I'm pretty sure I said no when you asked me, so that means, no. I'm not your girlfriend." I bluntly stated. I didn't want to be harsh, but he was already aware that I didn't have feelings for him so I don't know why he thought that would have changed.
"Aw Kyoko, still as harsh as ever. I can't believe you just rejected me again in front of so many people." Mei pouted which made me laugh a little. I would admit he made me laugh and his antics were funny, but I wouldn't say we were more then friends.
"Yeah yeah, you knew I would still say that though, so it's you're fault for asking really."
"True, but why are you here? Wait-why are you wearing a Seido uniform? I thought you would come Inashiro. I couldn't be with you last year and now you go to Seido. You and Kazuya really know how to hurt a guys feelings." He stated, also looking at Miyuki.
"Kazuya? You invited Miyuki aswell? Too bad Mei." I laughed and looked at Miyuki who just seemed like he was overlooking the whole ordeal.
"What you mean last year? Isn't Kyo-chan a first year?"
"No she's the same age of us but because of-" I slapped a hand over Mei's mouth so he couldn't say no more. He was about to tell them I was in rehab.
"Yeah, I got held back a year." I nervously laughed and removed my hand from Mei's face, giving a small glare. "Anyway, we need to go to the dug out, see yah Mei." I quickly spoke and began to walk away, the other following close behind.
"Kyoko, lets go on a date." He shouted from behind.
"Still no." I shouted back.
"I'll walk you home!"
"No again."
"At least your number! I'll show you my new pitch if you do!" Mei laughed as I heard his teammate say it wasn't the best idea..
"Deal. See you later". I waved behind my head.
"Woah I never thought you would know that blondie, Kyoko." Sawamura stated. "You really going to give him your number?"
"Sure, I'll sacrifice my inbox for some good information." I nonchalantly replied.
"Why did you get held back?" Kazuya asked, his eyebrow was raised.
"Oh there were some complications... nothing serious." I lied and entered the dug out.
Gosh dammit Mei and his big mouth...
