A week had passed and I seemed to be meshing with the team quite well. Well, only the first string, the majority of the players didn't like my presence. Yesterday was the day of the inter-squad where Furuya made a name for him self, he's definitely a strong player. Hitting off him would be amazing.
"So are you going home now Kyoko?" Yuki asked as practice had just finished for the night.
"Nah, I'm gonna stay and watch to see what you do after dinner. I have to know how hard your all working when I'm now around, right?" I smirked walking next to the rest of the guys. "Also, I'm kind of hungry and to lazy to make my own food. Coach said I can always have meals here, but I put it off until today." I laughed and entered the dinner hall.
After being served a sat on the furthest table, having Kuramochi and Miyuki join not long after. "Woah, the portions are so big." I nervously said, looking at the pile of rice in front of me.
"Yeah, at least you don't have to eat three bowls." Kuramochi laughed, eating his rice at quite a fast rate.
"So Kyo-chan, we don't know that much about each other, do you have a boyfriend?" Miyuki smirked while asking, making me choke on my ride a bit. Of course it would be Miyuki to ask.
"Yes, I would also like to know." Jun said in a loud demanding tone also sitting down, along with Yuki, Ryosuke and Masuko who seemed to be interested in he topic, well except Masuko who was to busy eating away.
"No, do I look like I have the time?" I sarcastically asked. Well it was true, I wouldn't have time for one, I have to whip all these players into shape.
"You seem quite defensive, have you never been asked before?" Ryosuke smiled, he could be really mean from time to time, but it's really funny when I'm not the target.
"Yes I have actually. What's with all these questions?" Why were they talking about my romantic life? "What about you guys, do you have girlfriends, huh?" They all look sheepish for a moment.
"Baseball is priority." Yuki announced and all the others agreed.
"Yes, that was my answer."
"You rejected the poor guy? Kyoko is a ruthless heartbreaker." Kuramochi laughed, and I just shook my head eating my food.
We moved on from the topic and talked about a more sensible topic, however I kept sneaking glances at Miyuki because he was just looking at me. What does he want now?
I finished first because I had less to eat then everyone else and accused myself. Before heading to the grass bank, I walked to the dugout and grabbed my jacket. The sun was setting and it was a nice place to look at it from. It was peaceful, silent and beautiful. Sometimes I wish moments like this would last forever, I happy that I made new friends. I don't feel as lonely as I used to. I hate to admit, but the guys were a comfort.
"What are you doing here Kyo-chan?" Miyuki asked looking down at me, holding a bat in his hand. Did that much time pass already.
"Watching the sun set, what about you?" With my question Miyuki just sat next to me, also looking at the beautiful scene.
"Oh I was just wondering around and then I saw you here."
"You don't have to lie. I know you was going to swing your bat in secret." I laughed, giving him a small smile. The whole team knew he swung just as much as them, yet he chose to do it away from everyone. Maybe he's actually the shy type? I looked at him again, no probably not. Overconfident more like.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Miyuki asked, catching me off guard.
"What-like what?"
"All sweet and stuff. Don't tell me, you like me already?" He smirked. 10 more laps.
"I was just wondering why you always bat away from the team? They all know you do it anyway. And what you mean like you? As if I'd like someone like you Miyuki." I laughed, I couldn't stop actually.
"Hey hey, call me Kazuya. I call you by your first name." He replied disregarding my question.
"Call you Kazuya? Why? It's not like we're that close. And I prefer people calling by my first name."
"Well were teammates now, and in some of the same classes. Were kinda close." Miyuki grinned. "And why? Don't get on with your family?"
This made me tense a bit.
"Your a sharp one, basically." I laughed it off, trying not to carry on this conversation. "Well I'm going to check on everyone now, later Kazuya." I smiled and began to walk off, giving a small wave behind me.
My heartbeat was beating a bit too much, damn, he had his own charms. I better watch out for him. I just laughed, Seido is a really interesting place to be.
I saw Yuki and Jun swinging next to each other. Good strong swings. I can see they don't slack off at all.
"Well well Kyoko, I see someone's caught your attention already. A romantic talk, under the sun set with Miyuki?" Ryosuke appeared from behind me along with Kuramochi.
"Pft, it's not like that. We were just talking." A shook my head, I swear Ryosuke better let this go, but knowing him, he won't.
"Well, just a heads up. Even though he doesn't talk to many girls in class, a lot of them have crushes on him, for some strange reason. If they knew the real him they wouldn't." Kuramochi said in an annoyed manner.
"Sounds like your jealous." I laughed, which annoyed him a lot. I cut him off before he could retaliate. "But seriously, it isn't like that. And even if I did I wouldn't date someone on the team. That would just be irresponsible." Smiling at them, I said my goodbyes and walked off, grabbing my bag and leaving the school grounds.
Today's events ran through my mind, if I ever like someone on the team what would I do? If something bad were to happen, it could effect the team as a whole. I don't know if I could make that sacrifice. I guess it would all come down to how my feelings were.Miyuki POV
Kyo-chan walked off, leaving me looking at the sun set. She really is something. She can be rough around the edges but she is actually really sweet. I wouldn't say I had feelings for her, she was just different from all the others girls I know so I guess my interest peaked a little.
I didn't really feel like swinging now, maybe I'll just go back to my room and look over the score books.
"Well well Kyoko, I see someone's caught your attention already. A romantic talk, under the sun set with Miyuki?" I hear Ryosuke say, oh this conversation sounds interesting. I'm definitely going to ease drop.
Kyoko denied it straight out, I guess she really isn't effected by me at all. I was quite annoyed about Kuramochi's statement, does he think I'm some type of player?
I was about to walk out until I heard Kyoko speak up again. "But seriously, it isn't like that. And even if I did I wouldn't date someone on the team. That would just be irresponsible."
I couldn't stop smiling, why does this girl have the same mentality as me?
I knew it. Kyoko Akashi is definitely someone I need to know all about.
