'I'm late!' Ecaterina thought as she ran to collect her bag. It has been five months since she had gotten a golden meddle from her first ever performance. She quickly left the now-empty locked home and began to run a few blocks to the ice skating rink her older sister owns.

The 14-year-old teen grew up independently with her older sister ever since their parents had died from a tragic accident. Ecaterina Yurievna, that was her name. Ever since she was little, she had a huge passion for figure skating. All she ever did was either skate in her free time or search anything up on the web about it. But, at the age of 11, their parents died from an aeroplane crash.

Their mother was a famous prima ballerina and their father was also very famous. After all, he was a Russian broadway star and gained so many fans along the way but one day fate started to change for them. Both the parents died leaving the two sisters on their own. No family to take them in and no one to guide them.

Lidiya, the older sister by 5 years, took full custody of her younger sister and so, she raised her well and saved up the inheritance in case for any emergencies.

And this brought up to this day. Lidiya wanting to be a famous choreographer for many different kinds of dances and Ecaterina wanting to be a figure skater but for the time being, Lidiya bought a skating ring for both her sister and to make some money since she didn't want to even touch the money that their parents had passed on to them.

At long last, Ecaterina burst through the doors and ran to her sister's office to find her sorting out paperwork. "Sorry, I'm late! I overslept." She panted as she hung onto the doorknob for support.

"Ecaterina, " She got up from her black leather chair and made her way to her younger sister who was now standing and breathing properly," how many times do I have to tell you to always be five minutes before the actually time. If not then you could at leats be on the actual agreed time but I never said you could be 13 minutes late." She looked at her sister trying to contain her anger from rising.

"L-look, I'm sorry. I stayed up late again doing research." Ecaterina bobbed her head down nervously while playing with her fingers. It was true, she did stay up late doing research after research  and forgot to keep track of the time. In the end, she slept at exactly 1:12 in the morning.

"Just get ready and be in our usual room in five minutes tops." She pinched her nose bridge and let out a sigh. 'You never learn do you?' She watches as her younger 14-year-old sister ran with a soft smile on her face. She still loved her after all. It was whom she is and she couldn't change the fact.

Lidiya watches as her sister did a perfect salchow and landed on time with the music being played on her iPod. 'She's getting better and better at it.' She inspected her as she did another salchow but this time, she fell and hit the hard cold ice.

"Ecaterina!" Lidiya yelled in worry. 'Whenever a skater hits or fall on the ice when performing a jump or spin always hurts them and can also cause serious injury.' Even though she was not knowledgeable in the world of figure skating, she still did some research on it.

"I'm okay! I'll try again!" Ecaterina shouted back with determination. 'She might injure herself again.' Lidiya furrowed her eyebrows in concern.

"Ecaterina! Stop and come to me now!" She paused the music being played and shouted. "I have something for you to see." She said once her sister glided to her.

"And what will that be sis." Ecaterina came out off the ice and started to take off her ice skating shoes. "Is it going to be important?" She asked in wonder. She places her white ice skating shoes int her bag and zipped it up before slinging it over her shoulder.

"You'll just have to see." Lidiya started to walk away iPod in hand. She just hoped that her troublesome sister will understand the message that she is going to show her.

"Why are we here?" Both Ecaterina and Lidiya stood outside another ice ring but this time it was bigger and was known for its figure skaters and coach. "I thought we have an ice rink to our own."

"This one is different and I want you to pay attention to the skaters." Liydia took several steps before making her way to the doors while Ecaterina just followed her in total boredom.

'What's the point of seeing other figure skaters. They are all the same so why?' Ecaterina thought. She looked down on the floor before hitting her sister's back. "Why did you stop?" She took a step back completely unaware that they were in front of an ice rink.

"Look at the skaters and tell me what you think." She said with her arms crossed. Her sister just rolled her eyes in irritation and walked next to her sister and looked up.

"Wow." Those were her first words. She looked with awe at the skaters' jumps and spins but one stood out particularly. His face held determination, passion and happiness within them as he glides all over the rink. It was obvious that he was an amateur but she felt something within her while she looked at him.

'He seems different. Different than the other skaters.' She had a weird feeling that he will be someone important later on but she ignored it. 'So this sis what sis wanted me to see. I think I understand she wanted me to realise.'

"So I see you finally came." Ecaterina turned around to see a tanned man talking to her elder sister. 'What is him to her?' she pondered as she looks at them.

"I want to introduce you to someone Yakov. This is my younger sister Ecaterina." Liydia turned and gestured to her.

"I'm Ecaterina Yurievna and you are..." She waited for him to reply but before he could a young masculine voice interrupted.

"Yakov!" The three turned to face the person who interrupted and to Ecaterina's surprise, it was the same boy who she admired from afar. "I'm done with t-" The boy with light grey hair stopped and blue eyes stopped once he saw the person who inspired him to become a figure skater.

"It's you..." He trailed off in amazement. He thought the next time he was going to see her would be in a competition but he never suspects it to be that soon.

"What do you mean me?" She took a brave step forward to him.
