Ecaterina's POV...
'How many days has it been? How long was I out for?' "Well it doesn't matter since I'M LATE!" With my duffle bag draped over my left shoulder, I rushed out of the hotel. Two days. It has been two days since I passed out in the stadium and the day of that I am going to participate in such a huge event.
"-and step on it!" I yelled at the taxi driver once I slammed his car door. He immediately took off after my loud exclamation and now, there is nothing else I can do to speed things up. A drive from the hotel to the stadium will take 20 minutes without traffic and I only have exactly 32 minutes before the competition starts. I leaned back on the seat and gazed out of the window quietly hoping I would make it in time.
I was mad at myself. So very mad. If only I didn't stay up all night but yet.... If only Ugly didn't make me watch over Viktor then maybe this would have never happened! 'No! This is no time to be crying!' I rushed to do my makeup, hair and get my dress on at the hotel and I mustn't ruin it or else I would have to redo it. It wasn't Ugly's nor Viktor's fault. Why was I up even in the first place? I needed to get enough sleep at this age but yet why?
"It seems like it would take another fifteen minutes because of the traffic. Looks like many people wants to watch the World Junior Figure Skating Competition up close for once." I balled my hands which were on my lap into fists. There was a high chance that I would be late and not be able to compete anymore because of this. But yet, I was not surprised in the slightest bit.
'Adelphia, Min-jae and Payton.' It was because of them that may people wanted to watch from the audience. Adelphia Anthimos, team Greece and came from a wealthy framily of highly influential people. With her rich brown hair that slowly fades into a light chestnut, her light brown eyes that twinkle when she's skating, it was no surprise that she was one of the most beautiful teenagers in the world. Adelphia is known for her elegance on the ice and her flexibility. Her favourite jump is the double axel and spin is the Y spin.
Min-ja Kim, representing South Korea is famous for her fast growth of technical skill and ice coverage. She performs the bent leg layed over camel spin in every competition which people also like to call it the Min-jae spin. Even though she was not the creator of that spin, people still loves to call it the Min-jae spin. She doesn't have a particular favourite spin but from interviews, it is said that she loves axels, lutz and flips.
Finally is Payton Meyer from team America. She spins and jumps clockwise and is well-known for her triple jumps and spins. Payton dislikes spins but excels at it. Her favourite spin is the bent leg layed over spin with her hands parallel her head. Her signature jump is the triple salchow and rarely messes up a jump or spin.
Thus those three, in particular, will prove a great challenge to me especially since I haven't practised in three days. I was deep in thought as time passed. I had nothing better to do than sit and wait until we reach the stadium.
"It seems that the front entrance si overly crowded. It would take about twenty minutes for me to reach it." I snapped out of my head when the driver said something. 'We are already here!'
"Go to the back entrance." He seemed a bit hesitant at first before I showed him my pass which was around my neck. I glanced down at my phone to see I only had less than five minutes before the competition starts.
"Do you think you could go any faster?" I tapped my foot impatiently on the floor as I clenched my teeth. "I'm in a hurry you know." The sound of cars honking was making my sanity go down. "I'm getting impatient." I said in between my teeth.
"As you can see I'm trying my best." He was trying his best and I bet he dealt with far worse people but I needed to get to the back entrance and fast. I looked back down at my phone only to be terrified. One minute left.
"Tch, you know what? Here!" I dug the money out of my pocket in my skating jacket and threw him it.
"Hey! Wait!" I ignored everything at this point. The cars, him, everyone and everything. Only one thing was in my mind and that was to be able to compete.
~~☆~~
I made it. I finally made it passed the persistent security guards that were guarding the back entrance and here I am. Behind the rink boards waiting for my turn to compete as for the other participants in the second group. I was eleventh out of forty-six people to compete but one thing was important. I was able to compete thanks to the kind judges. I was lucky that I was a junior if not this would have never happened. But yet, one thing was still in my mind.
'Viktor, Ugly, Georgi, Svetlana, Sis... Why didn't any of you take my name out f the list to be able to compete.' My head was clouded with thoughts and I knew it was not good. Especially since I was the first to participate in group B.
'May group B please proceed into the ice for warm up.'
I got up from where I was sitting and took off my white skating guards to show golden blades. It was almost time. I stepped onto the ice with my left foot to feel the wonderful sensation I always felt whenever I went into the ice.
'Does it really matter right now? As long as I am able to compete then everything is fine.' Yes, everything was perfectly fine.
