Chapter 10 (Unedited)

NOTICE: I have no knowledge of figure skating so whatever I write may sound impossible.

Ecaterina's POV...

That's right. This was the same program I performed to show everyone what I was made of in Ugly's skating rink. 'Unjust Life' was the name that I picked since I was the one who made it. The soft tune of piano went into my ears as I got up from my starting position. Everything was the same but Ugly made a few adjustments.

I slowly skated back then to my left. Even though he only changed a few things in the choreography that bis sis made, it didn't feel the same. 'How am I going to make everyone feel what I'm feeling right now?' 

"Ecaterina has a total of three triple jumps and two double jumps in this program."

'How am I going to make everyone feel what I felt before?' 

"She is skating to the song 'Unjust Life' made by herself and this program is choreographed by her older sister, Lidiya."

'I got it! I'll make them feel it through not only my pain but theirs.' I jumped into a triple lutz and landed perfectly. Looks like the training has finally paid off. 'It's time to finally show what I'm made of.' I closed my eyes and shut everything off my mind. The competition I was so eager to participate in, why no one took me off the list, I shut everything off but the gentle flow of the soft piano that was being played.

I stopped to perform a crossover spin then proceeding into a layed back spin with my hands out. I concentrated only on the music and my program. I couldn't hear what was going on and didn't wish to. All I want is to perform a program that brings out everyone's misery that is hidden deep within their heart.

After a few seconds, while doing the layed back spin, I got up and raised my leg up high into the air and spun into my favourite spin. The biellmann spin. I lowered my leg and glided ever so gracefully that may have been better than the queen of grace herself and jumped into a triple axel, triple toe loop and finally triple lutz. 

This was the only and first program that I let my body move ever so freely. I didn't control what was being done but I landed the combination which surprised me. Immediately following after that was the circular step sequence. Why a circle? Well, that's because it shows the unending sadness of everyone.

The music was half finished but yet, I wasn't feeling a tad bit tired. I still had my eyes closed this whole time and tears weren't streaming down my face. My body was expressing the grief and sadness of everyone watching and those were my tears. How I skated. Skating shows many emotions once you love it.

Gaining momentum, I jumped into a triple salchow then jumped into a death drop which proceeding into a flying sit spin. I lifted one of my hands up for a few seconds before getting back up. The song was about to end but I wanted to do something with the amount of energy I still had. And before I knew it, my body went up into the air with both of my hands up and landed into a perfect quad salchow.

It all ended with my left leg behind my right and my right arm reaching out hoping someone would grab it. I felt so alone in this dark world all by myself. If only he could brighten it up for me. No, he already did. But, where is he? 'Viktor, where are you?' I finally opened my eyes after all this time to see the person I least suspected. 

"I love you, Viktor." My hand was reaching out to him. I couldn't believe I my lips moved on its own. Maybe it was because I didn't take control of my body during the whole program. No, that wasn't it.

I collapsed onto the ice out of pure exhausted which surprised me. Not once did I feel tried until now. I placed my hand on my chest to feel my heart beating ever so quickly. 'Why? Why?' it was not out of exhaustion but ...... A feeling I couldn't possibly describe.

" принцесса!" 'How strange.' I got up from where I was and slowly started to skate to the entrance where Viktor was waiting for me. 'Viktor.... Why?' I started to speed up. 'Why?' My pace quickens. 'Why?!'

I finally made it. My arms were around Viktor in a tight hug. His hair tickled my skin, his scent went up to my nose, his presence was enough to bring me happiness and joy. I get it now. All this time I was in love with him. 

"Viktor." I whispered ever so quietly.

"принцесса, " I got down and looked at the beautiful eyes he always had. Somehow, my world seemed brighter than before. "Everyone is waiting." I slowly turned around to see everyone standing up and cheering for me. All this time I shut everything out but now, the were making so much noise that surprised me. 'Why?'

I started to walk with Viktor right by my side the kiss and cry area where Ugly was sitting, waiting for me after putting on my guards. I made my way to the podium and sat right next to him and Viktor took a seat to my right making me sit in between the two most troublesome people in my world. I tried to surpass a smile but I felt slight tugging from my lips. I can't believe it.'

"And now the judges have finally tallied her score."

I waited impatiently and hoped I set a new record which I must since I did do a quad salchow at the end of my program. But even so, anxiety was getting the best of me and I tried my best to hide it.

"81.02! A new world record set by Ecaterina and her new personal and season's best!"

As the whole audience erupted with loud shouts and screams, I couldn't contain my joy and hugged the person next to me. "Viktor! I did it!" The hug came to a surprise but what I said surprised me even more. 

"See, I knew you could do it!" He hugged me back which made me blush. 'Thank goodness I am facing the other way.' "This calls for a celebration!" He immediately got up and pulled me off the kiss and cry area to go somewhere that only he knew.
