NIALL’s POV
It’s our last three days here in Sydney and we’ll be back in London the day after tomorrow. It’s kind of a bittersweet since I’ve never had the courage to tell Bree how I’m feeling about her and she’s with Harry now, so what’s the point? It’s not like it’s the first time ever that he and I liked the same girl. Most of the time, he always win over me when it comes to them. He always gets the girl, whether it’s because of my lack of confidence or him overflowing with it.
As planned since our first day, we’re going camping today. Along with Paul, we invited Bree to join us. Harry couldn’t stop blubbering about her coming the whole damn night, and I am even tempted to put duct tape on his mouth just so he can stop. The image of them kissing at the yacht yesterday, though I haven’t really seen it, pisses me off. As much as I want to think that Bree’s different, I am not so surprised that she would fall in Harry’s trap. The thought of it just sucks.
Harry and I, as roommates, exit together at the back gate of the hotel where the rest are waiting for us. As Harry opens the door for the both of us, I spotted Bree from a short distance, riding on Louis’ skateboard smoothly. Liam, Louis and Zayn cheering at the background, near the RV we are renting for the trip.
She’s indeed a tomboy. Yesterday, she drove a jet ski in our little race and came in second. Now, I am more impressed that she even does it better than I do. I would often stumble on the board and just give up for the day.
She is wearing a loose thin grey shirt, denim shorts with her all-time favourite sneakers that she was wearing the day we first met, her hair pulled up to a messy bun with some strands escaping to her face that sways to the wind as she dashes to the wall at the left side of the building, and then pull to a stop. She then turns the board towards the three other lads standing beside the vehicle. She started accelerating the board by the leaping of her left foot, her right on the board. When she gained enough momentum for the board to run, she quickly places her left foot behind her right, leading towards Louis. She stands steadily, grinning as the wind blows against her radiant face. I don’t know her that much but her cool and fearless personality speaks through me. Damn it, I really like her. If only…
I glance at Harry, beaming in awe as he looks to the girl that now he can call “his”. He must be proud of his girlfriend and I am drowning in jealousy.
“She’s so cool.” He states cheekily while his sight glued to the girl I like.
“Yeah… You’re lucky to have her.” I mutter to myself, rather conceitedly.
“What?” He sharply stated, as he drags his confused look at me.
I would be lying if I say I am happy for them because clearly I am not. I am disappointed. I walk briskly towards the RV where Liam and Zayn are standing aside. I feel Harry walk behind me, ignoring his last question.
Bree, slowly stopping in front of Louis just in time as I stand beside Liam and Zayn, looks up and smiles at me. Louis and Bree have been close as well since yesterday, the kind of closeness that’s not going to lead somewhere. Louis is dating Eleanor for months now and Bree’s well aware of that.
“Woahh!” Zayn and Liam chants in astonishment, raising their hands in the air, circling them around.
“You the man, Bree!” Zayn puffs, stretching forth his hands against Bree.
“Way to go, Bree.” Louis exclaims, clapping his hands together.
“Thanks Louis.” Bree smiles, fist-bumping with Louis. “I’ve always wanted to do that. Thanks for teaching me.”
