NIALL’s POV
Bree looks like a little girl who just got what she wanted for Christmas. I knew she would love it here, the same way I loved it when I first came up here to enjoy some fresh air. I cackle at her when she started to gape at the beautiful sight above Darling Harbour. She starts springing excitedly in her position, spreading her arms out wide, taking in the view. I feel that she suddenly forgets that I am here beside her, she gets lost to the scenery almost immediately when I showed it to her.
All of a sudden, she tries to step on the knee-high railing which caused me to jump, my knees shaking while I try to grab her back to the ground.
“Bree, what are you thinking?” I chide her, chuckling through every word as she becomes an inch closer to me, face to face.
“I was just trying to have a closer look.” She pouts, looking straight through me while she breathes rapidly, surprised by my sudden action. Well I was surprised that she would do that too.
”Are you crazy? You could fall if I haven’t pulled you down.” I scold her; the smile on my face is overtaken by worry. She pulls away from me gently and smiles. What’s wrong with her?
“You always scare me, Bree.” I murmur, wiping my temple. It really freaked me out; I could have a heart-attack. I was way more scared this time than when we jump off that god-forsaken waterfall.
“Relax.” She slurs, waving her hand evasively and laughs. “I won’t do that again, promise.”
I let out a heavy breath, bending my body down, one hand clasped on one knee, the other patting my chest as I look down to the ground, then glance back to her.
She immediately fondles concernedly my shoulders and let me straighten my back.
“I’m sorry Niall. I won’t scare you again. I was just carried away. I’m sorry.” She grins, her brows compressing together, eager to calm me down. Her brown eyes are meeting mine. I flutter my eyes gently, wearing away the tension and I manage to smile back at her. Her brows retreat and a wide grin grows in her beautiful face.
“It’s just too bad I forgot to bring my camera with me.” She sighs to the great view then glance at me.
“How about your phone?” I suggest, smiling at her.
“I don’t have it either. I kept it in my bag.” She murmurs.
I dig out my phone from my front pocket. “Here, use mine.” I hand the phone to her and she takes it dubiously. “I’ll just send it to you later, don’t worry.”
I know how important it is for her to capture everything in a picture so I am not going to let her miss the most beautiful view she ever seen here in Sydney.
“Thanks.” She mutters, and another wide grin rose in her face as she starts taking few pictures of the scenery with my phone. Bree, she’s the hardest person to please if you don’t know how to. She isn’t even attracted to any tangible things. What matters more to her are those things in the world that she claims to be the best ever; experience, adventure, people, all are impalpable unless she catches them in an image.
“Here, Niall. Thanks.” She woke me up from my trance and hands the phone back to me with a very satisfied look. I feel like I am finally fulfilling my mission of keeping that beautiful smile in her face. Aside from her breakdown at our camp, she has never worn off that smile ever since she hung out with us, with me. I feel so happy about it.
After sending every image to her phone, I sway her to one cosy spot at the rooftop. I held her hand on the way then let go as I plop on a red couch before her.
