Going back to Normal

Arjun POV:

"Congrats Arjun, you are rocking Man", a gentleman wished me and I shook my hand without even registering his name. I was standing in the middle of a congratulatory party and have been rendering handshakes left, right and centre.

"Can you please have a smile; you look like you had lost the deal dude. It's your first success", Mats whispered holding his wine glass

I wanted this success and I wanted to win over the deal even more badly as it is the place Dimple is working and I didn't want to lose it to Hebris as I know what would happen if they get it. I felt difficulty swallowing at the thought of Dimple and flung myself to the corner of a wall.

"what are you doing in the corner dear...you should be the centre of show...hey don't forget that you owe me big time huh...without me you wouldn't have got this deal", Chitra smirked and tossed her hair over her shoulders

"Hmm..." I nodded

"What's with this gesture, I thought you will be on cloud nine", she asked crossing her arms

"Wow Arjun, I thought you have lost the deal. But am must say you have your way huh. Great going", an old man hugged me and winked barging into our conversation and continued "So when are you guy's going to get married?"

I starred at him and Chitra responded "we will definitely let everyone knows when the time comes" and gave a fake smile.

Chitra is SH group only heiress and both of our family has decided to tie knot between us. Both of us knew each other since our school days and she is a very good friend of mine. We are against this forced marriage which is more of business wedding.

"How about us?"  A group of gentleman joined us enjoying the party.

Ok, this is the limit; I don't think I can put up with this any longer. I informed my dad and left the party without letting others knew and Mats followed me

"Arjun, let's go to Bar", Mats said while hugging my shoulders striding towards the elevator

"I am not in a mood for that, you stay here", I said quietly

"I know right, that's exactly why we should go", he pushed me and before I say something, he continued "I don't want to create a scene here, let's go somewhere private" he stressed

We went up to the secluded bar area and Alex joined with us as I was expecting an important phone call

"Tell me why do you wanted to come here, I don't wanted to drink", I said while slouched on the sofa

"Why are you not talking to her anymore?" he asked sitting down in the opposite side of sofa and Alex sat beside me.

I was shocked and wondered is he by chance referring to Dimple?

"Who?" I asked incredulously
"Don't act smart, the girl you risked your life for"
I starred at Alex but he looked at me equally surprised.

"h..ow ho..w did you know, did you guys spied...on me?" I couldn't stop stuttering

"hahaha, Do you really think we don't know about you, Arjun, come on! we all know you since our diaper days. The wound that you had from Accident say it all, it clearly showed that you took the blow in someone's stead...and when Chitra spoke about the girl, we all knew something isn't right... and to top it up, you were not yourself for 2 days and gone back to square one since last week...so I guessed it. Tell me what the issue is"

He is right, it would be stupid if I think I can hide it from them, but the same time it's just not worth up for a discussion.

"yup, you are right, I did fell into the trap momentarily and now back to normal"

"Normal, you call this normal?? Look at you, you are a mess now. Tell me in great detail what happened and am not going to leave you if you are not spilling it out" he poured the drink for Alex

I told him all including the PI report I have received.

"Are you nuts? Why do you even believe something which is not cent percent true?"

"Oh, do you want me to suffer like Steve? What is not so right?"

"Man, Steve's thing was different...its different... as in completely different, why are you even applying that here", he leaned towards the table

"How can it be different Mats, both of them knew each other for years and if its friendship, people will say it's friendship, they don't have to give you shit...and I have seen it myself...the way that Arun is treating her...it show it all and you know what...she did choose him over me..What is there to talk about it...just leave" I exploded from the sofa trying to end the conversation

"Oh seeing is different than being told Arjun, Did you ask her about the relationship? Don't assume things...what if they are only friends...go and check with her" he reasoned

"I heard enough Mats!" I started walking out.

"Are you saying people can't be in platonic relationship?" he called me out

"Do I look like one?" I turned to him and continued " Mats, you know me and Chitra are good friends even though we are supposed to get married. Do you still think am stupid enough to think all men in the world will hit on his girl who is a friend? In fact I strongly believe if the world pushes a men and women into a relationship, they can still remain friends. It is not paradoxical impossibility! "I yelled

"Exactly Arjun! Check with her once before it's too late" he paused and continued "Am not taking her side, am saying this because you are completely in mess right now"

I came down to my room for the call and lost in my thoughts...

"Are you sure you guys are good at what you are doing??? I can't believe that D&M corporation relies on such a lousy security services" my eyes raging with anger I shouted.

"Sir, please understand the information that we have is reliable and this is the max we can collect...while to the outside world they say they are friends but they don't appear to be one...there is mixed info we gathered..."

"These are damn speculations and not facts James. You call yourself experts ah?" I shouted cutting him midway

"We do have facts which are leaning towards confirming the speculation"

"So are you certain they are bloody going out?" my face crimson with fury.

"As I said...they have not declared to people that they are in relationship but it appears to be like one, the photographs that I have given to you show it all, they had stayed together multiple times in villas during different occasi..."

"Shut up! Shut the f*&^ up... Just T.E.L.L M.E yes or no, I don't need any bull shit" I screamed and literally spilled with gritted teeth

"Yes, they are in relationship" James confirmed

I don't know how many times my mind has replayed this conversation over this week. I was easily getting lost these days especially when am alone.

I received the damn PI information just before my dinner out with Dimple. I still went on time and waited outside the restaurant. I was holding myself out contemplating whether I should go in or not. I waited outside looking at how patiently she was waiting for me...when I decided to go in, he came.. turning around my whole world into a mess...

"Am dead serious, I think we are better off apart!I wish not to see you anymore. Goodbye",  her angry voice echoed!

  I wanted to go back to my normal self. I wanted to erase everything, every goddamn thing about her like she said...we are probably better off apart!
