Saki's POV:
I got up with heavy head and my eyes begged me to have it closed for few more minutes. I knew my mom called me many times to come down for breakfast. With so much struggle, I washed up and gone down.
"Are you not going to office today?", Dad asked me while I sat on the chair
"Oh! Madam must be very tired Dad as she slept veryyy late", my dear brother mocked while sitting across the table
Ding Dong...door bell rang and Mom rushed to open the door as if she was waiting for someone.
"It must be Arun. I called him to join us" Vicky said peering at me and I felt something was strange for sure as Arun must have landed only few minutes back and calling him to come over directly here means something was definitely odd.
Oh yes, they must have called this meeting to rebate me since I came late yesterday. I thought to myself.
Arun joined us on the table and sat next to Vicky facing me. Everyone started eating and I was preparing myself to hear them all.
"Who is he?" my Dad asked looking at me and my heart stopped for a second...is he...is he by chance referring to Arjun
"Who?", Arun asked starring at me
"The guy with whom she was talking till dawn", Vicky chuckled looking at his plate and I literally spilled out the food and chocked
I never thought that I would get caught so soon and have no idea on how to cover it up too. I remained oblivious. I could see from my corner of eyes that all the four pair of eyes peered at me with suspicion and I tried hard to concentrate on the food.
"Arun, do you know him? The way they were conversing, doesn't seems to be friendship to me. Have you met that fellow", Vicky asked
"His name is Arjun", I said
"He was the one who saved her from the accident", Arun intervened gracefully. He had a sour expression, he smacked his palm against forehead and his eyes looked pain. I smiled but he didn't return it, he might be upset that I didn't tell him about the conversation.
"Oh, is that the reason why you turned down the marriage proposal?" Mom asked
"Marriage proposal?", Arun questioned and his spoon slipped from his hand.
"Yes, did she not tell you? Last week, Uncle's friend had brought an alliance and we all liked the proposal, but she turned it down without even looking at it"she said literally adding fuel to his fury.
I looked up at her questioning eyes. Saki, you are dead now...how could you forget to tell him this, am sure he must be feeling wronged. Well, last week I was extremely in pain because of all that happened and this slipped out of my head. I felt my crime rate is increasing.
Arun just nodded that he was not aware.
"Really, she didn't consult with you, really?", Vicky just added more fuel to the flame
"Shss!, that's nothing, why are we even talking about all of these things", I pushed the plate away
"Do you want us to believe there is nothing going on? Why didn't you bring him home if he is just a friend? Why do you have to meet him on the road secretly that too in the middle of a night. What will others think about you", Vicky yelled
"I like him", I declared
"Fine! Bring him home this weekend", Dad said
"But why? Dad, we have just started seeing each other...", my voice showed my annoyance
