"I'll be back later, Rogue!" Sting yelled as he rushed out of the guild.

"You're not going with him?" Rogue asked Lector. The maroon cat shrugged.

"I honestly have no idea where he's going."

"Should we follow him?" Yukino asked.

"Why not."

Sting ran through the town. He headed to the park and waited at the fountain. Someone then jumped on his back covering his eyes.

"Guess who?" A child's voice said.

"Hmm... The ice cream man?"

"No!" A little girl no older than five fell on to his lap. "It's me! Y/n!"

"Oh!" Sting pretended to be shocked. "I could've sworn you were the ice cream man." Y/n pouted and Sting chuckled. "I'm kidding. How have you been, Y/n?"

"I'm awesome! I missed you though. You didn't come last week like you promised."

"He he. Sorry, I had a last minute job to take. Anyway, those big kids aren't bothering you anymore, are they?" Sting asked.

"Nope!"

Y/n was an orphan and along with other kids lived in the local orphanage. Because of this, kids would tease her and her friends for not having parents.

"They leaved me alone when I showed them that move you taught me," Y/n said referring how Sting taught her how to conjure light. The bullies thought Y/n was actually going to attack them so they fled when in reality, she couldn't have done anymore.

"Ne- Sting-niisan, I was wondering..." Y/n trailed off.

"What?" Sting asked.

"Can you please continue teaching me magic?" Sting's widen at her sudden outburst. Y/n clenched her fist. "I wanna be strong like you, Sting-niisan. I want to protect my friends and take jobs like you do. So please, teach me magic!"

Sting thought about it for a minute. He saw the determination in the 5 year old's eyes.

"So, you wanna learn Dragon Slayer magic?" Y/n nodded. Sting crossed his arms. "It won't be easy."

"I don't care! Please teach me Sting-niisan! I wanna learn," Y/n said. Sting smiled.

"Ok then."

"Yes!"

"We'll start now. First, run around the park," Sting ordered.

"Run?" Y/n repeated in disbelief. Sting smirked.

"What? Are you going to give up already? You can't tie your shoe before you put it on."

"Ok. I'll do it only if you run with me," Y/n said.

"I can accept that."

Y/n smiled widely before taking off running. Sting smiled himself before running after Y/n.

Rogue, Lector, Frosch, and Yukino leaned back behind the bush they were hiding at.

"I can't believe it," Rogue said. "Sting, actually mentoring someone."

"And the whole time I just thought he wanted to train privately," Lector admitted.

"Fro think so too."

Yukino smiled. "I think it's cute that Sting has someone that looks up to him so much."

Sting pushed ahead of Y/n and she fell behind. He looked back at the child. "Come on Y/n. Keep up."

"It's no fair. You're bigger than me!" She whined.

"That doesn't mean anything," Sting replied. He looked back at her. "Wanna be fast as light? Push yourself."

Y/n frowned. "I have to do this," she thought. "I won't be just a waste of Sting's time."

Forcing her lungs to work harder, Y/n pushed faster catching up to Sting. Eventually, her lungs no longer burned and it felt almost natural. Sting smiled at this.

"She's a fast learner," he thought. "Reminds me of the young me."

They finished a couple laps around the park. Y/n collapsed on to the ground.

"Tired..."

"You did good," Sting complimented. "We'll continue tomorrow." Y/n just nodded throat too dry to say anything. "Hmm... How about we go get ice cream?"

"Ice cream!" Y/n sat up quickly. Sting started laughing.

"Yeah." Y/n jumped up and grabbed his hand pulling him along.

"Come on. Come on. Come on. Ice cream!"

Sting brought them each a cone from the ice cream parlor. Y/n eagerly ate her dessert. Sting smiled. He had a habit of spoiling Y/n every time they met up and he was aware of it too.

"Ne- Sting-niisan."

"Huh?"

"When I learn dragon slayer magic," Y/n started. She smiled. "I'm gonna be a fourth generation."

"Fourth generation?"

"Yeah. I wasn't trained by a dragon or have a lacrima. I'm trained by a dragon slayer so I'm a fourth generation."

Sting chuckled before smiling. "I like the sound of that."
