"No! I don't want to go to a stupid party!" Y/n spat angrily. "Especially the party of a stupid fairy."

Yukino sighed covering her face in frustration. "Y/n please. Wendy specifically invited you because she wants to be your friend."

"Friends are lame. I'm fine by myself." Y/n said. She crossed her arms and sat on the bed, turning away from Yukino.

It hurt Yukino to hear those words. She had been trying so hard to change Y/n's attitude but with the past's vise grip on her, it was hard for Y/n to move on.

"So, does that mean you want me to leave too?" Yukino asked.

Y/n tensed.

As much as she hated people, she could never hate Yukino, the woman who had been like a mother to her since she was a child. If Y/n were to be honest, one of the reasons she still acted out was because it was the only way she knew how to keep Yukino's attention on herself.

She didn't want Yukino to get bored and leave her.

She didn't want to be alone again.

"Fine!" Y/n groaned. "I'll go to the stupid- I mean, Wendy's birthday party."

Yukino smiled.

"You know you have to get a gift?"

"No way! Damn that!"

"Y/n..."

"Fine!"

Y/n didn't know Wendy on a personal level so she didn't know what to get her. She didn't want to half-ass a gift though fearing that Yukino would chastise her for being thoughtless.

In the end, Y/n ended up using her puppeteer magic to make a rabbit plush and a cat plush. They were lifeless of course, but Y/n spent an hour trying to determine the color scheme for both.

After dragging the sick Sting and Rogue off the train, the group made their way to the Fairy Tail guild. Y/n held on to Yukino's hand tightly with one hand and the terribly wrapped present for Wendy in the other (Y/n was insistent on not having any help).

As they walked through the city and neared the guild, Y/n became anxious. She already was from the stares they had received. Yukino insisted that it was because Sting and Rogue were there, but Y/n felt that they were looking at the stitches on her body, judging her... gossiping.

"I want to go home..." Y/n mumbled.

"I'm sorry sweetheart," Yukino said. "I know you're uncomfortable." She used her free hand to pull Y/n's rabbit hood over her head. Surprisingly, Y/n shook the hood off.

"I'll be okay."

Yukino smiled before nodding at the girl.

The group arrived at Fairy Tail. Sting, being the obnoxious person he was, kicked the door open announcing that Sabertooth had arrived.

The guild had been completely decorated with blue, white and purple balloons, streamers and confetti. Colorful table clothes decorated each table, one which held a pile of gifts, the other that held the large seven layered birthday cake.

"What's Up Sabertooth? Glad you could make it!" Nastu greeted. He and Sting high-fived as if they were long time buddies rekindling after several years. Nastu smiled at Y/n. "Hey Y/n!"
