» In Chapter 1.7, you chose to: give pleading eyes.
"Please?" Minky pleaded, her eyes hopeful. "I really want to get a closer look."
Pinpoint shook his head, refusing to budge. "They are dangerous. Trained to be warriors to defend their territory."
"But you said this is just their border, not territory. Their territories should be in the forest and mountain, not in between," Minky remarked. "Besides, you look like a good fighter. You can fend them off."
Pinpoint was silent, seemingly battling with himself. Minky heard him sigh, and he nodded. "Fine. I'll bring you there, but you have to stay close and alert."
Minky felt thrilled. She had never gone further from the Twoleg territories before. It would be her first time exploring the outer world from beyond her silver boulder.
She noticed that the air was much fresher - and cleaner - than the Twoleg territories. She took a deep breath and exhaled slowly.
"The air is so fresh here!" Minky mewed, flicking an ear. She felt energised just by breathing in fresher air.
"Just because it's fresher here doesn't means the inhabitants are friendly," Pinpoint reminded, tense. He was continuously darting his eyes back and forth, with his ears pricked up, alert.
Minky took no notice as she skipped around, excited to explore more. Could this be where I belong?
Pinpoint's growl broke Minky from her thoughts. Immediately, Minky felt a looming sense of dread. She heard a branch snap, and leaves rustle.
"Stay behind me," Pinpoint ordered, baring his teeth. "This may end up ugly."
Nervously, Minky nodded and retreated behind him.
» Taste the air.
» Listen to possible voices.
