the sun had risen and set for couple of times and still it doesn't have a power to change things. maybe sometimes times has no power to alter things.
still it was the same for her. going to school in the morning and going home which was now the hospital where her brother lay, still unconscious.
still it was the same for him. waking up early in the morning to go to work and going home late. he was tired but he was always hoping to bump on the familiar girl he knew but not really.
their lives was just rotating in a repetitive ways that there is nothing new to experience. all they have done was an every day routine and nothing far beyond it.
but maybe fate is playful that it took a guy and a car to collide in order for both of them to meet again.
she was surprised to see him in bandages and all but more stunned when he gave her a bright smile like he was perfectly fine.
she approached him and roam her eyes to the scratches and bruises he got from the minor accidents. she frowned and asked,"what happened."
"i got hit."
"you got hit."
"yes and i'm so strong that i only acquired this bandages and some bruises. not much. maybe if a bus or a truck hit me, i'll still be alive."
"don't joke about being hit."
"what? i'm not joking about it! i just want to lighten up the conversation!"
"by making a joke out of it?"
"i- i don't know. you're furious as hell. okay, okay. sorry. i didn't know you were so worried about me."
he smiled and her frown got deeper.
"I'm not worried about you. don't boast your ego so much."
"just admit that you care for me."
"i don't dimwit."
"or perhaps you care for me?"
"dream on."
"or you just like me?"
"what?!"
he smirked thinking he got her and teased her more about it until she bursted and an explosion was never beneficial and the words that came out of her mouth was like a bomb dropped on both of them.
"you got hit and could've died like your mother!"
she stopped the moment her mind processed the words that came out and she didn't miss the pain that crossed in his eyes before he covered it in a sad smile.
"i wished i did because i'm just too tired to live in this world already but guess what? i don't have the same fate with my mom.
i got hit and survived."
"i'm sorry."
"forgiven."
she lowered down her gaze as she step back from him and turned away. she knew she hurt him in the most devious way and she regret it.
and she knew it would hurt him more if he knew about her more.
