Day Twelve

He's still waiting.

It's only been a couple hours. Maybe you haven't visited the apartment yet? Maybe you're sleeping? It is really early -too early- in the morning for you to be awake. He just has to wait a bit longer.

Then it's the afternoon. "Where...where is she?" He keeps telling himself that everything's going to reset, and he will finally be able to fight for your love. He just has to wait a bit longer.

But you haven't left. It's still the day after the party: the twelfth day with Jumin.

He stays up for twenty-four hours, not wanting to miss the time it finally decides to start over and have your first conversation. He truly believes it is going to go back to the first day.

Now he's just in denial. "Haha...this is funny...such a funny joke..."

Fuck.

It's not a joke.

He checks his phone one more time. "I'm sure it's a misunderstanding. Some funny, completely reasonable misunderstanding."

Then it's evening, and he doesn't know what to think. At this very moment, you were with Jumin doing who knows what. He can only pray to God that it isn't anything you had done with him; he felt comfort in knowing he was the only one who had gone that far with you. He felt special.

But, you had spent basically a whole week at Jumin's house, and he wouldn't let you leave. Seven didn't think much of this at the time -since he was just distracting himself the whole time from the harsh reality of having to wait another 11 days until it reset- but now that things haven't started over again after almost a whole day, he starts to worry.

Did Jumin do something to you during that time? Is he doing something to you right now?

Should he call you? It's to make sure you're okay...after all. But when he finally gains the courage to call you, you don't answer.

Should he call you again? No, he shouldn't, but he does anyway. This time you still don't answer.

Calling again would be ridiculous, but that doesn't stop him. This time you do answer. "Seven? Is everything alright?"

He forgets to breath. He saw you last night at the party, so it's not like he's never heard your voice before (there were also phone calls, previous parties that only he remembers, and so on), but for some reason, hearing your voice makes him want to cry out from joy.

Waiting all day for a chatroom became exhausting for him. He ended up not participating in any of them because he just wanted to be in the one chatroom where you don't remember Jumin or anyone else. So all day he hasn't communicated with you in any way, and it was absolute torture for him. "I'm great! Nothing can trouble God Seven. Don't worry! Are you alright?"

It wasn't a complete lie; he was fine once he heard your voice. Before, though, he was so anxious thinking about you not loosing your memory like normal. Shouldn't he be glad things are finally going back to normal? But he's not glad; you are in love with Jumin. He is thinking selfishly, but he can't help it.

"I'm okay! Just about to eat dinner. Make sure you eat well, okay?"

Of course you are thinking about his health. "Honey Buddha Chips give just the right amount of nutrients I need," he says and forces a smile. "What are you doing for dinner?" Please don't be HBC...please don't be HBC...please make a healthy choice, [Y/n].

"I'm going out to eat with Jumin," you say, and he then notices the sounds in the background: the sound of cars on a busy road. I think this might be worse than her eating HBC for dinner, he thinks.

"Jumin better not be driving. I'll never forgive him," Seven jokes, but he is entirely serious. If you got hurt, he doesn't know what he'd do.

You laugh which makes Seven smile. "It's Driver Kim who's driving. I'd never get into the car with Jumin behind the wheel."

Seven can hear Jumin's protests from the other side of the phone, and he forces out a laugh. He doesn't want to show you how much it's affecting him: you being with Jumin. "Okay. Eat a good dinner! Get a big juicy steak for me."

"Sure thing! Did you want me to bring you something? It might get cold...but I can't deal with the thought of you just eating Honey Buddha Chips."

She's making this so hard for me. "Ah, no no. Honey Buddha Chips to me is spinach to Popeye the Sailor man! I need them to be strong!"

You awkwardly laugh, not completely getting the analogy. "I don't believe you...I'll bring you a big, juicy steak-oh! We have arrived! Talk to you later, Seven."

"T-talk to you later, [Y/n]. Bye bye!"

"See you later with the steak!" you rush out at the last moment, not giving him enough time to protest before hanging up.

He sighs. Who knew talking to someone could take so much energy?

"Wait...she's coming here?!"

He then starts to obsess over the cleanliness of his house. Vanderwood was here and tidied up earlier...but he messed it up again. For someone who never leaves his computer seat, he sure does make a mess.

He rushes around, roughly snatching empty bags of HBC off the ground, on his bed, and around his desk. He picks up dirty clothes - or were they clean? - off the ground and shoves them in his closet. Breathing heavily, he puts his hands on his hips and looks around the room, pleased with the outcome.

Then his stomach growls. Should he eat a bag of HBC before you arrive? You might be a while...

One bag turns into two which turns into three, and by the time he sees you in front of his door, he is already full.

"You couldn't wait half an hour?" you ask in disbelief, a container of fancy food carefully in your hands.

"Sorry," he says and smiles sheepishly. "It was an accident, I swear!"

"Well, take it anyway, and you can heat it up for tomorrow," you offer with a smile, holding it out to him. "Well, Jumin's waiting in the car! I'll be off."

Then you were gone.
