Meetings and Hatings Part 2

━━━━━━━━━

Bree's POV

"Bree! Do we have to go?" Chase whined as he threw himself onto my bed. I laughed as he looked up hopefully. I shook my head and put on my earrings. Chase sighed dramatically as he stood up and made his way over to me. He stood behind me as I looked at him in the mirror before I picked up my necklace.

"Here." Chase whispered as he reached around my side and grabbed each end of the necklace. I pulled my hair up as he wrapped the cool chain around my neck and clipped it together. I smiled as he let his hands fall away from my neck.

"Thanks." I whispered. He smiled before he walked out of my room. I let out the breath I didn't know I had been holding for the last thirty seconds. How is he able to do that to me? I thought I was getting over this? I had told myself a long time ago, to let him go. And yet, here I am. Crushing on my best friend, roommate, and my father's best friends son. Just to make it more complicated.

"Come on. Lets get this over with." Chase mumbled as he motioned for me to follow. I rolled my eyes and grabbed my purse before I followed him down the halls and out the door.

"Aren't you going to meet your Dad's girlfriend tonight?" I asked. We walked out the door and into the parking lot where Chase unlocked the car.

"Yeah. Then, I get to meet her son. Apparently he's about our age." Chase pointed out as he started the car. We pulled out of the parking lot and started the ever so great journey to Principle Perry's house. She actually didn't live that far away from us... Which now that I think about it, was quite terrifying.

"When you say about our age, you mean-"

"I mean, they think that we, you and me, are going to be new best friends with him, and his friend." Chase finished for me. I found myself laughing at the thought of having the four of us hang out every night. Chase and I had been just fine for the past 15 years of our friendship, who says we need another two.

"Wow, your parents have some high expectations." I teased as we pulled into a parking spot. Chase turned and looked to me.

"You do realize your dad wants you to go along with this also, right?" Chase asked. I frowned as I thought of my meddling father.

"Fine. But just for tonight. I'm probably going to hate this kid, and his friend." I replied glumly as Chase and I made our way to the front door.

"Names." The butler ordered. I looked to Chase.

"Bree Henderson and Chase Davenport. Our farthers-"

"Yeah, I know. You're rich. Go on in." He finished politely. I smiled warily as we walked past him and into the hallway.

When you walked in, the walls were a shiny light green while the floors were a light gold. There were small tile outlines on the floor as you walked further down the hall. At the very end, there was a set of double doors leading to the ballroom. It was round with about the same colors. The floor stayed the consistent gold throughout the house while the wall color of the ballroom was a regal blue.

"You ready?" Chase whispered as we stopped just at the doors. I nodded slowly.

"I guess." I answered as he opened the doors to reveal the ballroom. I could feel my eyes widen at the sight of a hundred people simply standing there, drinking, in million dollar dresses. How people live this life, I will never know. I glanced around until I saw our dads talking with an extremely skinny kid. I nudged Chase and pointed ahead as the kid walked over.
