Fighting in the Hotel Room

━━━━━━━━━

"Ethan!" I squealed as I ran down the beach. He had a water gun in his hand as he chased after me. I laughed and ran over to the water. I was wearing a bikini and jean shorts while he had on his swim trunks. He shook his head and followed me into the water until it came up to our knees.

"Well now there's no point to this water gun. You're wet anyway." Ethan pointed out sarcastically. I laughed and held out my hand to him. He nodded and took it before I lead him over to the sand. The sun was setting as we laid down on the blanket at the top of the beach.

"Thank you for taking me here." I whispered as I laid my head on his chest. He smiled and glanced down at me.

"Thank you for asking me." Ethan whispered back. I laughed and looked back to the sunset. I had never seen something so amazing. Mission Creek was practically at the center of California, so we never saw the beach. We had to drive at least an hour to get here. So being in LA, was amazing. Ethan and I had been here for a day now, and I wasn't ready to go home yet.

Speaking of home, I wonder how they boys' dates went. I would hope she ruined all of them. I'm not exactly "on board" with the idea of Danielle becoming an honorary member of the group.

"Are you okay?" Ethan asked. I nodded and sat up.

"Yeah. I was just thinking about home." I said, brushing off the question.

"You don't want to go home yet?" Ethan teased. I shook my head.

"No. I would rather stay here another day." I added. Ethan's smile grew wide.

"We can stay if you want to. It wouldn't hurt if we missed a day of school, and I can call in sick to work." Ethan suggested. I laughed.

"We can't. Everyone would figure it out." I replied. Ethan frowned.

"Do you not want to stay another day with me?" He asked. I shook my head.

"I do, I just know that if we miss a day then... I don't know." I said simply before standing up. Ethan followed slowly, watching me. He picked up the blanket while I picked up our bags. We walked silently back to the car. Ethan glanced at me every other second, making sure I wouldn't run off. I didn't exactly pin myself as a runner, but if he did, then I guess I was. Thinking about it now though, I almost always ran when things got tough with him.

We got into the car and he drove us back to the hotel. The second we got back to the room, he threw the blanket onto the floor.

"Do you want to go home?" He asked suddenly.

"No, I don't. I just think that we should go home so we don't miss anything." I rambled. He rolled his eyes and crossed his arms over his chest.

"Really? That's the only reason you want to go home?" He prodded. I nodded.

"Yes. What other reason would there be?" I asked.

"Chase. You two seem to be pretty close. Do you miss him? Would you stay another day if you were here, with him?" Ethan yelled. I shook my head and ran my fingers through my hair.

"Why do you always bring Chase into this! He had nothing to do with us!" I yelled back.

"Yes! He does! You two are best friends! And I wouldn't be surprised if you liked him! And I know for a fact that he likes you!" Ethan yelled. I felt the tears welling in my eyes. He had guessed it. He knew that I liked my best friend. He was wrong about Chase though. Chase didnt have feelings for me. He never has, never will.
