"Bree, Ethan's here." Chase mumbled as he let my boyfriend inside the apartment.

"I'll be there in a sec." I yelled from my room. Tonight was our three month anniversary. I tried to dress up a little bit, but he knew that I was more of a tom boy. I had on a pink lace dress that I had worn to the party we had met at. I smiled as I brushed my hair off to the side. Tonight would be perfect. But of course there was the little voice in my head that kept repeating, "tonight would be better with Chase." Forget about Chase. If he liked me, he would have told me. I've moved on. I think.

"Actually Bree, could I just talk with you for a second?" Ethan called from the living room. I felt a frown on my face. What was up with him? Couldn't we just leave so I could know for sure that Ethan was who I wanted to be with?

"Um... Yeah. You can come back here." I called as I set my brush down. He turned the corner and entered my room.

"Bree. I don't think I'm as into this relationship as I need to be." He started. I sighed. Of course he had to do this on our anniversary. He walked over to my door and began to shut it.

"And... I don't think you're as into it as you need to be." He continued. I looked closer at him. Was this actually happening?

"What do you mean?" I asked. He shrugged.

"I know you like Chase." He whispered after he shut the door.

"I do not..." I mumbled unconvincingly. Ethan looked down at me with a smile.

"Look, I like you, Bree. But I can tell that your attention, is on him. I know that you like him, and so do you. I can also tell that he likes you. All you have to do is tell him how you feel. That's all it'll take for the two of you to get together." Ethan said reassuringly. I smiled up at my now ex boyfriend. He knew exactly what to say.

"Thank you, Ethan. I don't know what to say." I said with a smile.

"Can we be friends?" He said with a smirk. I laughed as I moved closer to hug him.

"Friends it is." I said as I pulled away. He smiled before opening the door. I followed him down the hall to see Chase lounging on the couch watching tv. The second he saw us, he stood up and readjusted his shirt.

"Hey, so you guys are leaving." Chase stated calmly with a nod. I shook my head.

"Actually, Ethan was just leaving. I'll see you later." I explained as I opened the door for him. Ethan smiled and waved before walking into the hall. I shut the door and turned to see Chase looking at me expectantly.

"What happened? I thought you guys were going to go to dinner." Chase asked as he crossed his arms over his chest. I laughed.

"Yeah, we decided to break up instead. I didn't like him that much, anyway." I brushed off the subject as I walked back to my room.

"But you guys have been going out for three months." Chase pointed out as I began to take the bobby pins out of my hair.

"I know. But, come to think about it... I've always liked this other guy." I said slyly. I turned to look up at the smirk on his face.

"And who might this guy be?" Chase said as he moved closer to me. I smiled as he pulled me into his chest.

"Just this guy." I said with a laugh, knowing that he probably already knew.
