The days without John were hopeless. How could I even imagine my life without him? Every time I went to the school hall, I took a look at the stairs where John used to sit; Now there were only Cory, Peter and strangely enough- Alex and his “bros”.
It was his time now! The school was his kingdom; that was probably the reason he had completely changed.
It was a snowy Monday. The frozen crystalline, wispy snowflakes were falling on the road, making a chaos of the streets. The people were all wrapped with shawls and their eyes were hardly seen.
I heard Alex calling me from behind, while I was walking along the snowy path, trying not to fall; but I didn't respond to him.
I heard him gasping and yelling even harder
“Jenny!!! Wait for me!!! Oh God; don't make me run I will fall”
And then a big “Bumm…thras”
“Shit” He yelled.
I turned around and saw him lying on the snow. His dark grey coat was all wet and white.
I couldn't stop myself from laughing.
“Very funny” he murmured, as he was whipping the snow from his coat.
He then grabbed my waist and said with funny, raspy voice
“Now you have to pay”
“What? It is not my fault! Why do I have to pay?” I said while I was giggling, trying to escape from his hugs.
“Shh…” He said and touched my lips with his cold, frozen finger.
He then, moved close to me; sticking his lips on mine. I felt his tongue on my lip, begging me to open my mouth, but instead I shifted my head, giving him a peck in his cheek.
He smiled, looking at me with a face full of confusion.
“What's wrong?” he asked me, from two footsteps distance.
“Nothing” I said, taking a deep breath.
“There is something! Is it John, ha? You can't get that idiot out of your head?” He started shouting, out of nowhere.
“What?” I asked him quietly, with my eyebrow raised.
“Don't give me that. I see you when you look at the stairs in school. I see you looking at his old house, when we are passing by.I had enough of it; I'm not stupid. You do feel something for him; don't you? “He continued shouting at me.
“Why does John have to do with everything? And yes; I do feel something for him; it is not love though” I started lying, trying to defend myself.
“I love you” I said, giving an accent to ‘you’. “I just don't feel well today. OK?” I added, shifting my bag on the other shoulder.
He didn't say anything, which was odd. He didn't try to apologize; he didn't even hug me!
I entranced the school, and glimpsed at Cory, who was standing nearby the door, probably waiting for someone.
“Hey” I said, giving him a smile.
He smiled.
“Hi Jennifer.” He said loudly.
