About a week after the incident on Corry’s party I woke up to a sunny Saturday, a little too early for my liking, but the smell of homemade pancakes splaying in the air was enough of compensation. With a sleepy face and under eye circles I slowly put on my spotty robe and puffy pink slippers and trailed to the kitchen.

“Mum, I’m going to take a walk. I need some fresh air.” I said as I grabbed one pancake and spread a thick layer of Nutella on it. She was too busy cooking, so she just nodded, probably without even having heard a word I had said.

With the delicious, thin cake in my hand, I went back to my room and put on some worn out sweatpants and a simple, white tee. After having done that, I rushed out of the door and out on the empty street.

I walked down the street, headed to the lake, with only one thought in my mind: How could Alex hurt me like that? How could he do that to me?

To be honest, I never expected him to be committed to our relationship; however, it never even occurred to me that he may be a serial cheater. And I was hurt, but couldn’t let myself cry over him again. It was over. And I, very clearly, had let him know that. The only reason I wanted to go to the lake was because I wanted to relax and get my thoughts together, but the noisy steps on the sand denied that idea.

Even though my plan was no longer possible, I sat on the cold sand with my head on my knees.

“Jenny.” Hearing the voice of Alex had me startled. I gave him a look full of wrath, with my eyes full of fire. “Listen to me.” He added, walking towards me.

I shook my head. “Don’t come close to me. Stay away.” I yelled.

Despite that he moved closer, gently touching my hand.

“Do. Not. Touch. Me.” I hissed with a threatening note, yanking my hand back and taking one step back. A devilish grin plastered on his face, showed his perfectly white teeth. I saw the odd glow in his eyes, which scared me a bit.

“Come on! You can't be afraid of me! I love you.” He began, but I cut him off “After all?! You dare to say that you love me?”

“After all what?” He lied.

“ How stupid do you think I am? What kind of an idiot do you think I am? I screamed, but he wouldn't listen.

“You can't get mad at me only because of that. It meant nothing to me?” he tried to justify himself.

“Then why did you do that?” I asked, trying to end that pointless conversation. “Don't sell me that” I added.

“John did cheat on you too. You forgave him. Why can't you forgive me too.” He told me, knowing my weakness.

“ First of all I don't you dare mention John ever again, and second, he did not cheat on me! And you did, and it was not only once” I yelled from the bottom of my lungs.

He didn't say a word; it was the time I thought he would leave, but on the opposite, he came even closer, that I know felt his warm breath on my neck. I stood like frozen. I wanted to go, leave, run as far as I can, but I couldn't. There was something inside of me saying that I should say. He then touched my lips with his; gently grabbing my waist from behind. I tried to back off, but his muscular hands were all wrapped around me, so I couldn't move.

“Let me go!” I yelled, but he didn't listen to me, he just moaned.

I punched him on the chest, but all I heard was a quite yowl.

“Alexander let me go! Let me go you bastard!!!” I tried to scream, but his tongue dancing around my mouth prevented that, so it just sounded like one loud growl.

Suddenly, with all the straight in my body, I kicked his leg ,so hard, that he immediately let me go and started crying out : “You are crazy”

I started running, while the tears were falling on my cheeks, that could literally make a puddle, my heart thumped like techno drumbeat.

Two days after my last, unexpected meeting with Alex, I met Corry and the other friends of mine in the cafeteria; Corry, who was more than furious about what I had just told him and what Alex did started yelling: “That douche bag! I'll kill him! How could he fall so low? I'm gonna end this thing right now” And then out of all my expectation, he stood up and went to the table where Alex and his company were sitting.

“Get up asshole” He yelled, as he grabbed Alex's shirt.

“What the?” Alex started yelling at Corry's face, but by the time he finished the two words, he got punched and fell on the ground.

“Wanna play that game? Alex murmured, as he got up and wiped his bloody nose with his shirtsleeve.

He then punched Corry and they started fighting in the middle of the school cafeteria. Fortunately they got separated by their friends, before anyone noticed.

I was sitting with Corry, whose lip was cut. I kept looking at the cut, realizing what kind of savage Alex was. After the tensed stillness, Corry decided to break the silence and told me: “John asked me to come over his house for the weekend” My eyes glowed. He would finally see his old friend. “Why don't you come? It would be a big surprise” He added. I petrified. My heart started beating like crazy, leaving me with the question what if? What if he had found another girl and stopped carrying about me? What if he was still mad at me?

What if…?

I decided to go. I wasn't sure if I was brave enough for the worst, because I honestly didn't expect that. However my decision was made. I was going to visit my ex- boyfriend. I would knock on his door and wait for his reaction; I knew that my parents wouldn't agree, but I was waiting for a miracle, I was going to ask them, just I was waiting for the right moment.

The right moment…
