Lily worked diligently on her laptop with her cell stuck between her cheek and shoulder. One of her clients wanted a quicker means of communication so he could ask all his ridiculous questions and she indulged him for the sake of her paycheck. She had spent enough time being negligent when it came to work. Now she had to compromise.
Answering politely, Lily worked at the same time to give him what he wanted. He was respectful enough so she kept talking even when his questions turned strange. There were many people who desired strange things online, but she had never met one that wanted to ask and probe over the phone. Apparently this one wasn't shy.
When she was finished and hung up, taking a second to relax, she checked the time. Christina wouldn't be out of school for some time yet and June wouldn't be home far later. She frowned and worked a little more because there was nothing else left to do. She had texted June, asking if there were any chores she should do, but she hadn't received a text back yet.
An hour later she checked the time and her phone again. Still no texts. She wasn't the type to get angry for that, knowing she wasn't the center of the universe and those around her had lives and responsibilities, but she was bored and wanted something to do. She grumbled, closed her laptop and set it off to the side, then went downstairs. Nothing was messy, unfortunately. She wiped down all the surfaces anyway and picked up what little things Christina had left behind. She vacuumed simply because she was already started on cleaning and didn't want to stop. Afterward she checked the laundry room to see if anything was sitting in the dryer waiting to be folded and put away. There was, and she sighed gratefully. There was something about folding laundry that calmed her deep down inside. It gave her a sense of peace. It also let her get an eyeful of June's sexy underwear, but that was just a bonus.
She took the folded load upstairs with a serene smile on her face. Her and June weren't yet back on sex, or much more, really, but she thought her chances were increasing steadily. She didn't mind waiting at all. Though she did admit to herself that June truly got her going. June was a force. She enjoyed looking at June's lines, both in and out of clothes. Sometimes she got so turned on by June in a normal, calm situation that it scared her. She didn't know if June felt the same but she hoped so.
As she gently put all of June's clothes in the drawers where they belonged, she heard her cell vibrate and ring. She carried the shirts she had to hang in the closet with her as she picked up the cell and placed it between her ear and shoulder. "Hello?"
"I'm stuck in traffic, get to Christina now!"
Lily frowned at hearing the tone and words June was using. She continued toward the closet. "What? What are you talking about?"
"The cops are there!"
Still, Lily wasn't understanding. "Where? Why?"
"Just get to Christina, Lily!"
Though she didn't know why, she tossed away the shirts in her arms and hauled it out of the house. She dropped her cell somewhere in the hall but didn't go back for it. June had sounded completely serious and concerned, so Lily wasn't going to waste time or ask more questions. If Christina had to be gotten to, then she would get there. She drove unsafely to the school and skidded to a stop, hitting the curb and going over it with her front right tire. She noticed the police cruiser parked not far off and idly thought she'd be getting a ticket.
There were no seconds wasted in getting to the front office, and Lily huffed, her eyes scanning the adults and police uniforms present. "Where's Christina?" she asked, knowing she probably sounded ridiculous.
