I’d completely forgotten about prom. It had slipped right out of my mind with everything going on. I wanted to run, but I didn’t. I stormed up to him whacking him in the chest.
“Couldn’t you have just asked like a normal person instead of in front of everyone?” I hissed before giving him a hug.
I pulled away but he grabbed my arm and smirked, “embarrassed?”
“Jerk,” I mumbled into his chest ignoring the immature wolf whistles.
Someone grabbed my ass. I thought it was Trey being annoying but his murderously angry face told otherwise. I turned around to see a cocky guy from the other team.
“Hey babe,” he smirked.
He never saw the punch coming for his perfect nose. It crunched satisfyingly while I smiled sweetly. “Don’t touch what isn’t yours.”
He sneered at me through the blood, “Stupid bitch, you broke my fucking nose.”
I flipped him off, “good, I’ll disenable you from having children next if you don’t get out of my face.”
His teammates were hovering around and it was probably a huge blow to his ego and social ranks as he slunk off.
“That was hot,” Trey whispered in my ear.
“I know,” I gave him a smug smile, kissed him on the cheek and danced out of the way of his grabbing arms.

It was a snap decision to go and see my dad. I’d received a call saying I could visit him. I hadn’t told Trey yet though so I jumped in the car.
He’d shaven since I last saw him and his smile reached his eyes. “Hey kiddo, did you miss your old man?”
And just like before, I hugged him tight like a little girl. “Am I ever going to finally live with you again?” I said breathlessly.
Daddy chuckled, “they have to get the papers done first Jo.”
“They should hurry up then,” I whined. “Trey and Nathan are such a bum to live with.”
“So who’s this Trey and Nathan?” He asked raising an eyebrow teasingly, “your boyfriends?”
I shook my head blushing, “Nathan’s my best friend, Trey is...” I trailed off struggling to find a better word than boyfriend.
“You boyfriend,” Dad finished grinning. “Was he the one that was here the other day?”
I pursed my lips and nodded.
“Well,” he dragged out the word. “He and I might need to have a little chat.”
