When a part of you dies
The light begins to dim
Darkness surrounds you
Everything starts to slowly fade away
Left alone
Trying to find a path,
A path back to where you belong
But are you moving ahead
Or are you moving backwards
Robbed of your sense of direction
Lost
Confused
Blinded
Uncertain about anything
Each breath becomes a task
Existence becomes a joke.
A hand slips into yours
Holding onto it
Together
Giving each other strength,
You slowly progress towards the unknown
The past now a memory
The future now a discovery…
