I get the feeling sometimes
The feeling to stay neutral,
To not smile
Nor be sad
Just expressionless.
To feel nothing
To think nothing,
Just float in space and time.
Letting this feeling sink in,
I gaze through the person in front of me
Clueless is what I look to them
Probably even depressed.
It worries them
But they are at a loss for words
Nothing they say can change a situation,
Change the state I am in...
A funny incident from memory surfaces
Bringing a smile to my face,
That's how they know me
That's how they perceive me.
But from inside
I feel something else,
A deeper emotion
A denser emotion
That surfaces when I am alone,
When I am truly me.
