"I'm stupid."

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

"Yes."

"Then prove it," Harry countered as they both sat on the bed.

"I'm crying over a guy. I should be freaking out about passing both my anatomy and physiology classes instead."

"I have no idea what that is, but I'll go with it," Harry smiled and Noel laughed through her tears.

"You know, I'll write this in my journal. It's not something good, but hey." He threw her a pen from the bedside table and both of their journals. "I see that you still haven't lost your's yet."

Harry rolled his eyes and retrieved his own pen. "Please, if I lost it, my mom would burn me at the stake."

Noel was trying to find an empty page, skimming different stories of the Christmas times before that year.

"Okay, now can I open my gift?" Noel asked with a pout. Harry and Anne finally nodded as her mother smiled while Noel took the delicate wrapped presents in front of her. "Oh my gosh." Her eyes went wide at the sight in front of her: a new polaroid camera, a pack of film, old photos that she doesn't remember being taken, and a handwritten letter from Harry.

"You guys..." She hugged all of them at once and smiled, even though she was practically being strangled. But that was okay.

"My turn!" Harry said right after with an enthusiastic grin. After peeling away the paper so perfectly, he sent a sunshine smile at Noel, which she quickly returned. A new watch, multiple family photos (including Noel and her parents as well), and a handwritten letter from Noel herself were presented in front of him.

He pulled her into a tight hug and whispered into her ear a quiet, "Thank you for being my best friend. I love you."

The clock struck midnight two hours ago and everyone listened to the callings of their beds. But the two were still wide awake with rooms right next to each other. They both reminisced the events of that Christmas Eve and how much of a whirlwind it was. Harry couldn't help but think about how Noel was feeling at the moment.

Noel couldn't sleep. She was tired, yes. But it was more lethargic rather than physical. She turned on a bedside lamp and sat up while opening the letter she received from Harry. "Goodness, I will never stop loving him, will I?" she said with a smile.
