Present Time

Noel finally finished her letter in Harry's journal and smiled in victory. She couldn't want until the evening for him to open it, also because she added a little "surprise" in the box and gently wrapped it. Smiling even brighter, she picked up her duvet and made her way back into the bedroom.

_____

Anne gently tapped her wine glass, signaling all of the guests that it was time to open the gifts, Of course, the usual routine that was held for many years extended to this year as well. Laughs, smiles, and even tears of joy were shown throughout the evening. And when everybody opened their's, the boys noticed that Noel and Harry haven't even touched s single gift yet.

"What about you two? Or is the year and seven month marriage anniversary a good enough gift?" he questions in a teasing tone.

Noel and Harry handed each other similarly sized boxes as they glanced adoringly into each other's eyes.

"Open them while faced away from each other," Anne loudly whispered. Both did as told and turned their backs on the other. As Noel and Harry opened their box, they were quite confused as to why they were gifted their journals back.

Harry turned to his mother in realization. "You just-"

"Aha, yes I did. But Noel had a surprise for you in the bottom of that box." Anne winked and rubbed Noel's shoulder for comfort.

Noel was quite nervous, yes, but she was excited to endure another adventure, as long as it was with Harry. Her palms were relaxed in her lap, but she was still shaking nonetheless.

Harry picked through the bits of paper and found a napkin in a zip-lock back. Anticipation in the room persisted as a pregnancy test was revealed. And it showed positive.

"No way," Harry shook his head in shock.

"Merry Christmas," Noel said in tears.

Harry instantly kissed her with pure happiness. He is going to be a father. Noel is going to carry his child. His child will have half of his DNA. A little mixture of half-Harry and half-Noel would be running around the house. He is going to be a father.

"I'm going to be a dad!" Harry yelped in joy, which was when everyone followed.

_____

The cheers were endless that night, and the gifts were splendid. But the best gift that Noel ever received was the love that Harry gave her. And the best gift that Harry has ever received was the moment he met Noel all those Christmases ago.

This just shows that Christmas isn't always portrayed through the materialistic items that are sold by stores and bought by people, no. It shows that, sometimes, all you need is a little love during Christmas.

And maybe you should write it down too.
