The next two hours were filled with laughter as they both got tangled in Christmas lights, wearing ornaments and pretending for them to be earings, and taking photos on Mrs. Navarro's (Noel's mother) polaroid camera, which she snuck out when everybody was oblivious. It made Harry and Noel forget about the stress of school and the world outside of their friendship.

Harry looked at Noel with adoration in his eyes as she danced around her room while wearing Christmas lights on her hair and clothes.

"Later on, we'll conspire as we dream by the fire," Noel sang as the lyrics ran through her room.

"To face unafraid, the plans that we made," Harry continued as he spun her around.

"Walking in a winter wonderland!" they both said simultaneously and fell on the ground laughing. They looked at each other and laughed even more because they still had Christmas lights tangled on their bodies.

"Picture?" Harry asked.

"Mmhm."

He grabbed the camera from Noel's bed and snapped two photos, one for each of them. As the film came out, he set them on her desk, which was filled with now finished papers (thanks to Harry motivating), to completely develop.

To pass time, they decided to hang up Christmas lights on Noel's walls. Just as they finished putting up the last string of lights, Harry and Noel stepped back to observe.

"Turning the lights off in three... two..."

"One..." Noel whispered while Harry ran to the light switch. "Wow," she said, breathtaken. She forgot the warm feeling in her heart when she saw the first lights hung up in her room. It constantly reminded her of the new family that she made the last seven years of her life. She met Anne, a second mother to her, Gemma, practically her older sister, and Harry, her best friend. She hugged him in joy. "Thanks for doing this with me, Harry."

They both stood in silence as Harry rocked Noel back and forth in his arms, not wanting to let go of each other.

She let go, much to Harry's disappointment. "Wait! We need to fill out our journals!" They sat on her bed and filled out as many pages as possible. "Did you mention how we are antisocial, you helped me finish my work, we sang Winter Wonderland together, and we decorated my room?"

"Check, check, check, and check. Oh, and don't forget about how it's our seventh-friendship-anniversary today," Harry said with a bright smile that was practically brighter than the lights in Noel's room.

"How can I forget?" she smiled back.

"Hey you two, it's time to open gifts and we're staying up until past midnight like always," Gemma said as the opened the door. "Is anything going on right now that I should know of?" she asked, raising an eyebrow questionably.

Harry blushed, but Noel shook her head, not catching the bomb that Gemma was dropping to Harry. "Just the usual Christmas routine."

"Ah, well, your mom needs your help with the cookies. Harry and I will be down there in a jiffy," Gemma said with a smile.

As Noel left the room, Gemma looked out in the hallway and shut the door as she saw that nobody was present with them. "Harry, I need to talk to you," she turned to him, smirking as he looked slightly scared about what she was going to talk to him about.

"Don't tell me it's going to be what I think it's going to be," Harry mumbled.

Gemma smiled and patted his shoulder, "You'll find out."
