CHAPTER XVIII: KNEW

I woke up because of the irritating sound of a phone ringing. Maybe it's Hunter's. I switch sides and saw Hunters oh-so-handsome face.

"Hun, hun wake up. I think that's your phone ringing" I tap his cheeks. Nagmulat naman siya kaagad ng mata at ngumiti nang makita ako. He gave me a smack on the lips.

"It's still early" sabi niya at dinampot ang phone niya sa bedside table. Lumingon naman ako sa bedside clock. 2am in the morning.

"What?!" Sagot niya sa kausap at bumalikwas ng upo. He looked at me with worried face.

"Sige papunta na ako" sabi niya at ibinaba ang tawag.

"What's the matter?" I asked him. I clung my arms in his shoulders.

"My office got burned" He told me. "I'm going there"

"I'm coming with you" Lumabas na kami ng bahay and saw a black envelope on the front door.

I hope you liked my surprise.

"Shit! I thought this is over?" He asked me.

"There's no time. Let's go" Pumunta kami sa Rios Enterprises. His office on the 23rd floor is burning.

"How did this freaking happened? Shit!" Napahawak sa ulo niya si Hunter. Frustration is all over his face.

"I think may kinalaman dito yung nagbibigay ng threats sa'yo" Sabi ko sa kanya.

"What do they want from me?" He asked. Sino ba? Sino ba ang gustong pumatay sa kanya?

"The threats. I forgot about that. Damn! How could I be so careless?!" Naiinus na sabi niya at tinignan ako.

"Sir, wag kayo mag alala. We got this covered. Pwede na po kayong makauwi" sabi sa'min ni Cooper. Isa sa security team ng Rios Enterprises.

"Yeah maybe we should go home. It's late. Call me for the investigations okay?" Sabi niya at hinila na ako pabalik sa kotse.

Nakauwi naman kami kaagad sa mansion. Mga bantay palang ang gising dahil alas tres pa lang ng madaling araw. Umakyat na kami sa taas para ipagpatuloy ang pagtulog. Pero lumipas ang ilang minuto, gising na gising pa din ang diwa ko.

"Hun?" Pagtawag ko sa kanya. "Gising ka pa?"

"Hmm" Humarap siya sa'kin at yumakap sa bewang ko.

"Sa tingin mo sinong gagawa nun sa'yo? May nakaaway ka ba? Business? Personal?" Tanong ko sa kanya.

"In the business industry, enemies are normal. I have so many of those" kwento niya sa'kin.

"Is there anyone particular that you have in mind? Na gagawa sa'yo nito?"

"I don't know. Nakalimutan ko na nga din yung mga threats. Because I feel safe whenever I'm with you. Nawala na sa isip ko yung mga bagay na yun because all I think about is you. You invaded my whole being alam mo ba yun? Nahihibang ako sa'yo. Di ko alam gagawin ko 'pag may nangyaring masama sa'yo" mahabang litanya niya sa'kin. And then again, I felt my heart wanting to go out of my chest. Pinisil ko ang ilong niya.

"Yeah, but I can't help it. I'm worried for you" I told him.

"Wag na muna natin tong pag usapan okay?" Let's just sleep hmm?" He said at hinigpitan ang yakap sa bewang ko. "I love you" sabi niya habang hinahaplos ang buhok ko.

"I love you too" Sagot ko at pumikit na para matulog. Pero kahit kayakap ko na si Hunter ay hindi pa rin ako dalawin ng antok. I kept thinking on who would do this to him. Is this a threat or someone wants him dead? Ugh. This is so frustrating.
