"So like, what are we going to do? I mean like, how long is this going to take?" Dan asked as they entered his flat again."To do what?" Phil asked.
Dan flopped down on his couch exhausted from having to do so much physical excercise. Phil seemed unaffected by the physical work as he stared at Dan, who rolled his eyes annoyed at that, "Like how long is it going to take for me to find love? And like, where will you sleep while you're with me?"
Phil nodded, "Oh. Well I don't sleep, so I guess while you do I'll just sit here and wait for you to wake. As for how long it takes to find love--I have no idea."
Dan sighed, "What if I never find love?"
Phil shook his head, "Now what kind of Cupid would I be if you didn't find love? A bad one. If I don't succeed, then you can bet I'll never get assigned love duty again."
Dan smiled, "Interesting. You look for love for others, but you can never experience it for yourself."
Phil looks away from him, "There has been a few Angels who betrayed God and fell in love."
Dan sat up as this sparked his interest, "Really?"
Phil nodded, "Yes, of course. The very first was the angel Gabriel. He fell in love with a mortal woman named Meredith. When you fall in love, you lose your wings and entrance into heaven. You are banished from your brothers and sisters, and become a mortal as you live out a life here on earth."
Dan's eyes shined with fascination, "But how? If you can't feel anything in the first place how can you fall in love?"
"As an angel, your missing emotions are only blocked by lack of humanity. As you spend more time with humans you start to become more and more like them, and experience moods and emotions. And while your emotions start to show, and the feelings blockade fails, it is very much possible for you to fall in love like any other human," Phil explains.
"Does that happen a lot?" Dan asks.
Phil's face darkens, "No, it is the ultimate betrayal to Heaven to disobey Gods orders. Angels are forbidden to be in intimate contact with humans for they could create a cross between angel and human that is just as powerful as an angel, but with complete free will like a human. That is very dangerous and could risk the worlds safety if that hybrid were to be evil."
"Oh," Dan says, "So, if there are angels...does that mean that there are demons too?"
Phil smiles, "Yes, there are demons. But they are nothing too hard to kill. There is a special section in Heaven dedicated to angels who search and hunt for demons to kill. One of my friends is a scout in that Constituent."
"Angels have friends?" Dan asked, "They can have a preference for personality?"
"Sure, why not?" Phil said, "We have thoughts and will. We can like, and dislike things. Some angels are more human than others. Those who spend the most time on the ground are less stiff."
"Which section of angels spend the most time on the ground?"
Phil thought for a second, "I would have to say, Hunters and Cupids."
Dan nodded, "How many sections are there?"
"Four," Phil said, "The Analysts, Cupids, Guardians, and Hunters."
Dan's head was spinning, but he was too fascinated to stop asking questions, "Okay, but what does each do?"
"The Analysts are Heavens organizers. They take care of traveling souls, and track when someone is going to die. They also file where they are going. They deal with pretty much every human to enter Heaven. They grant them a personal heaven to spend eternity in, and go back to work. They rarely ever travel to Earth, and spend a lot of time on Heaven computers."
