AN: You guys are literally the best.
***

Dan woke up alone in his bed, surprised to see sun outside of his window. He could've sworn it was due to rain this morning, but there wasn't a trace of it. Though, last night with Niall it had drizzled. He yawned, sitting up and checking the time.

8:39 am

When in the hell was he ever up at a normal time? He sat up and went to his kitchen, making himself a bowl of cereal, but he couldn't shake the off feeling in his stomach. He felt like something was missing.

Someone.

He looked over at the couch and there was no one there. He walked into his bathroom and there was no one there. He felt like there should be. That made him feel alone.

Dan sat down, sinking into his couch. He didn't feel right. He felt normal, but too normal. This is how he felt every single day, alone and confined and confused. But something was different. Then he started to cry, not being able to control it. He felt like he had lost someone he loved. He felt devoid of it, like no one loved him at all. He felt useless, and empty and gone.

It was silent tears that fell down his face, because he didn't know why he felt this way or why he was crying. What was his heart yearning for? He stood up, wiping the tears from his face and furrowing his eyebrows in confusion. What was wrong with him?

Then he heard a knock at his door, making him jump slightly. He never really got company, especially uninvited. He quickly threw on some shirt from the floor and wiped his cheeks, hurrying to the door.

"Who is it?" He asked.

"Special delivery for Dan Howell," a man on the other end chirped.

Dan opened the door, even more confused then he was before. "What?" He exclaimed.

The man smiled, something about his light eyes seeming familiar, "You have special package mail! I was told it held important contents, so that must be exciting."

"Who is it from?" Dan asked.

"Um, the church," he said quickly.

Dan's mouth flew open, "The church sent me an important package?"

"Yep."

"That's strange," Dan said quietly, taking the small box from the mans hands. He looked like a mailman, but he didn't have anything for Dan to sign. That was odd. Dan looked up at him, feeling even stranger. His eyes, his hair. Dan knew that curly hair, he could've sworn he'd seen this man before.

"Um, if you don't mind my asking, do I know you?" Dan asked.

The man laughed, "No, I think I'd remember someone as pretty as you."

Dan smiled, "Oh, well thank you. You just...seem so familiar."

The man shrugged, "Maybe I just have one of those faces."

"Yeah," Dan said, sighing, "Maybe you do." Dan felt far away.

"Okay, goodbye Daniel," The man said, bowing sarcastically.

Dan faked a smile as he began to turn back into his house, "Yeah goodbye..." he paused a moment to look at the name tag on his chest, "...Pj."
