"Should I call him?" Dan asked, his fingers clutched around his phone and eyes looking expectantly up at Phil."I don't know!" Phil said.
They were standing close together in Dan's door frame, deciding whether or not to call Niall for a date.
"You're the Cupid, Phil!" Dan said.
"You're the lover boy!" Phil retorted, putting his hands on his hips.
Sassy angel.
Dan rolled his eyes, "How am I supposed to know without help from you?"
"Most humans ponder for hours and wonder if it's too soon to call, or if they should wait. That always seems to work out fine," Phil says.
"Philllll," Dan whines, "You know I'm not good with the whole dating thing. You have to help me."
Phil bit his lip, something Dan had never seen him do before, "How old is Niall again, Dan?" He asked.
"Nineteen," Dan said.
"Then yes you should call him," Phil answered with a firm nod.
"How did you come to that decision from his age?" Dan asks, giving him quizzical looks.
"Niall's still young, and he's still shy. Especially around you, Dan. The chances of him asking you out first are slimmer since you've only met once. You're the older one in this relationship, and he probably wants you to take charge first without knowing. You're also the most confident, and experienced," Phil reasons.
Dan smiled, "Now the Cupid uses his love knowledge," he muses, ruffling Phil's hair. And because Phil doesn't get annoyed by it he doesn't fix it back into place and he just stares at Dan looking like a goofball.
"Come on, call him!" Phil urges, pressing Dan's phone to his face.
Dan laughs, and removes the phone and Phil's hands from squishing his cheeks, so he can call Niall.
"Well, here it goes," Dan says.
"Just be yourself, Dan. He likes you," Phil smiled, "You are the best person I know."
Dan smiled, pressing the phone to his ear after the call button. He was usually never nervous about talking to guys. But that was until Phil showed up flapping his wings and talking about love.
When the line clicks there's a crash and then a tiny yelp, and Dan furrows his eyebrows as he hears a relived and excited, "Um, hello!" From the other end.
"I'm sorry, is this a bad time?" Dan asks.
"No!" Niall says, a little rushed, "I was just, um...sorry. Hi, Dan."
Dan smiled at how cute he's being, chucking lightly, "So, I was calling to see if you wanted to hang out sometime soon. I was missing your face."
Phil gives him a thumbs up, brimming with excitement. Just be yourself, Dan. He likes you. 'You' are the best person I know.
Dan can practically feel Niall blushing on the other end, "I m-missed your face too."
Dan grins, "Fantastic. How does tomorrow sound, for you then? About seven o' clock, I'm off of work by then."
"I'd love to," Niall gushes, and Dan can hear the shine coming from the light in his eyes and then he hears him clear his throat to regain maturity, "Tomorrow at seven is fine, yes, I'm free."
Dan giggles, "Okay then, it's a date. We can meet at the park near the Rev. Station, unless that's inconvenient for you?"
"A date, wow...I mean, okay! It's not inconvenient for me at all, I can meet you there," Niall rushes.
