Serena was nervous about what Lucian wanted to talk about he sounded so serious, she hoped it was nothing bad that could destroy their friendship they had created. She heard a sigh coming from Lucian and that's when she knew it was definitely something serious because he was nervous talking to her about it too. "Look before I start telling you what I'm about to tell you please listen with an open mind and please, please don't run I have never done anything bad, what you see is what you get" He spoke quietly but confidently when speaking those words. "Ok I promise I won't run but, please tell me what's so serious that you must tell me that's making you nervous?" she asked cautiously. "Well... I haven't been fully honest about myself to you and for that I'm sorry however, you will understand why I didn't tell you and why I must gain your trust first" Serena listed patiently nodding in acknowledgment of what he had just said so he can carry on. "I...I'm not just a Werewolf Serena I'm a Hybrid my Father is a Werewolf and my Mother is a Vampire but, I...I'm... I'm nothing like those Hybrids in the past I promise I've never hurt another person unless it's to protect my people!" he spoke as though he was hurting me, I understood how he felt been a Hybrid myself I knew how hard it was to tell the people close to me who I really was. "Please don't tell the council, I told you this because I trust you" he paused and stared at me wondering what I was thinking, he couldn't read my mind because I always had a barrier up so others couldn't read my mind and find out who I am. "I'm a Hybrid too" Serena replied.
Lucian couldn't believe what he had just heard, she couldn't be a hybrid too it was impossible and unheard of for two hybrids to be born in the same year never mind the same day as well. "Are you been serious, two hybrids born the same day and year WOW? Where going to make history!" he spoke as though he couldn't believe it which to be honest I couldn't either. "well I'm a mix of fae and demon, it can't be that bad but, I understand why it's taken you so long to tell me, I was going to wait until after the party to tell you but I guess it's out now" he heard her let out the breath she didn't know she was holding and so did he. Lucian thought this had made them closer as friends and he couldn't wait to tell his parents that he wasn't the only hybrid born in his year. After a long chat on the way back to Serena's house we finally said goodbye, promising Serena I would pick her up Monday for our last week of school before we both had two weeks of to prepare ourselves for the changes that happen before our eighteenth birthdays, we wouldn't see each other until the party as we both had to be locked away for two full weeks as the change can hurt others around us.
We spent most of the week together with our friends most of them knowing of our hybrid inheritance and how important this week would be to them as for two weeks they will be going through hell. Literally. They would experience pain, they would gain the knowledge of the past and of other species, hunger for power, revenge on people that have done the slightest bad to them even if it was calling them names. However, these are a hundred times worse for hybrids as everything is amplified, their inheriting the power of their ancestors from both species and preparing for their mate bringing them closer if there mate is already of age. Lucian won the premier league for his school football team and Serena had mastered most of her fae powers, meeting up after school every day to go to their new hide out they found in the woods where they could let themselves free and be the hybrids they were meant to be. Their friends joined them, accepting who they are and learning about their life and background, all swearing they would never betray them to the council.
Our hide out had a lake which was really big, Serena been a fae would place a bubble around our heads so we could go exploring, we found so much different fish, shells, pebbles and we even found an underwater cave which was full of sea jewels. If mermaids where real we would say this would have been one of their caves with all the treasure collected and neatly piled. Jackie had brought a sofa through the tops of the cave so we could make it the perfect place to hide from the outside world. Being here with my friends made us forget about what was happening in just 6 hours; I had to Drop Serena off home in three hours so she could eat, shower and get prepared for two weeks of living hell. Our friends wished us look and asked for one more story about hybrids before we left, they knew what to expect of us after two weeks and was told not to be surprised if we looked different or our scents changed after all we would be on the hunt for our mates by the time the party came. Tyler and Jackie had the party covered and promised it would be ready for when they were released from their safety rooms.
"Ready Serena, we must leave or you'll not have a proper meal before our life turns upside down for two weeks?" Lucian mumbled not wanting to leave his friends but knowing it was for the best. "Let's go Lucian, bye guys see you in two weeks please be good while were gone."
