Chapter 13
Valeria's P.O.V.
"Would you like to go into town today?" Isaac asked during breakfast, with me in the large but empty dinning room.
"What?" I asked realizing that I had been starring out through the large window, thinking about that suitcase that I had upstairs.
I needed to find a way to hide it, no one could find out about it at least not yet.
"I would love to go, but what will we be doing?" I asked.
"Their are plenty of things to do, go for a coffee, go for a walk around the mall, or better yet we could forget about going into town and go for a run instead. I want to see what you look like in your wolf form," he said with a smile.
"I like your second idea better," I spoke imagining myself running alongside Isaac through the beautiful terrain that I had saw on our way here through the car window.
"Then it's settled after breakfast we can go for a run, and maybe later I could take you to meet a few pack members, and while we're at it I can introduce you the two men that will be your guards starting tomorrow."
"Oka- wait what? What guards do you think you're talking about?" I asked
"The ones that will be looking after you," he said slowly as if waiting for me to fight him on it, which I intended to do.
"I don't need guards to look after me, I've been taking care of myself for eighteen years I don't need babysitters now at this point in my life."
"You are the Luna of the Woodlands pack and my mate. You need protection especially because of everyone that will be trying to hurt you to get to me. Guards are the only thing I can give you to keep you safe."
"Then let Aidan be my guard, he's been looking after me since I was a kid. He's strong I know he is and the alpha of the Deacon pack knows he is. He could protect me."
"He's can't be your guard."
"Why is that?" I asked stabbing my fork into a piece of melon on my plate before taking a bite out of it.
"He's not loyal to me, he's loyal to you."
"What is wrong with that he is going to be my guard. Shouldn't he be loyal to me."
"Aidan will not be your guard and that is final."
"Let me clear this up for you, since we just met not even a day ago. I may be your mate but I don't follow orders, not then or not now," I said standing up.
"This isn't an order, it's something that needs to be done for your safety."
"If it was for my safety you would pick the strongest person you could find to be my guard, which is Aidan."
"Why are you so confident in his strength? Have you seen him fight before?"
"Of course I have, I was raised with him. Do you know how many times he would get in fights when we were growing up defending me," I said remembering all the times when we were younger that I would clean his wounds after he fought.
"Alright if you want him to be your guard so badly than he is going to have to demonstrate his strength to me," he spoke.
"How is he going to do that."
"I'll pick my best five fighters in the pack, if he defeats them he can be your guard."
"You want him to fight five of your guys, why not just one," I said getting a feeling that he wasn't just doing this to test Aidan but to also put him in his place, by showing him who was in charge
