Eight

Newt had awoken at the unholy hour of four am. He felt fully rested though, somehow. Newt had gotten up out of the bed in his case and made his way over to his clothes, quickly dressing himself before heading to the door that was the entrance to his creatures. The room was the size of a small aircraft hanger, holding difference biomes in every area. He looked around, counting off his beasts one by one. "All the Occamy are here, thank the lord. Thank you." Newt said as he had smiled at the creatures while he leant over on their little nest. He quickly stood up and shifted his head away from the creatures. "Mustn't get distracted, not now." He told himself before he continued on. He stopped at the mooncalves, counting them and taking a mental note.

"We're missing two." Newt said softly while the herd had ran over to him, crowding around. He smiled at them, but instantly shook his head to wipe off his smile. "I have to hurry." He repeated, now walking over to the Obscurus area. He was slow and even hesitant to check. He was scared that if it was unleashed that he would earn himself nothing but living hell. He slowly pulled back the curtain.

"Thank merlin's beard." Newt had whispered before pulling the curtain back over the Obscurus area. He went past the Bowtruckle area with little to no thought, but then he slowed down. "Pickett?" He asked, looking down at the pocket of his white dress shirt. Pickett's small head popped out followed with a few squeaks. "Could someone have escaped?" He asked, referring to the Bowtruckles. Pickett got out of his pocket and stood on his shoulder instead before giving a few squeaks that only Newt would be able to comprehend.

"Alright, alright. I'll check." Newt said while he turned around and made his way back to the Bowtruckle habitat. He looked around the tree looking green area. He put two fingers to his lips and whistled loudly, with the other Bowtruckle's crowding over. "Finn, Marlow, Poppy, Pickett-" Newt looked around. His heart began pounding. He began looking around the habitat mumbling endless 'no's'. "Have you all seen Tom?" Newt asked, turning back to the three that stood near him. Marlow was the first to squeak up, with Newt groaning instantly and rubbing his face. "Tom left!?" He yelled, earning small nods from each of them

"Great. Simply wonderful." Newt said as he had walked out and took Pickett into his hands. The small creature had sat down, looking up at Newt. "This is bad, very very bad." Newt said to Pickett. The Bowtruckle nodded, and Newt had sighed while he set the creature back into his pocket. He had gone to the door, ready to leave and head up to wake (Name). That was, until he realized that he had not checked one more place. The Thunderbird.

Frank was well behaved, and Newt highly doubted that the creature had escaped from his case. But, he had to check. If he didn't, he would be risking Frank getting caught and being shipped and trafficked yet again. He hesitantly walked over to the Arizona desert set up, looking around the area. He took a shaky breath as he had cupped his hands around his mouth and called out for Frank. He waited for a few moments, hearing nothing. He repeated the call, and usually by the first one Frank would be flying down. But, there were no wing flaps being heard.

"Oh, no.." Newt had said softly and turned around quickly. He began running out the door, and he quickly ran up the stairs. He did not even look at the time as he ran through the neat house, his feet making loud thuds. "(Name)? (NAME)?!" Newt yelled as he had opened the door to the girl's room. He remembered this room like the back of his hand. Hell, he remembered the whole house like the back of his hand.

(Name) groaned as she stuck her head up from the bed. As soon as her eyes fell on Newt, she screamed and pulled her blanket farther over herself. It's not that she was nude, she always had that reaction to someone walking in on her sleeping.

"We have to go. Now."
