The two had head off to catch the Mooncalf. The girl wore a large cardigan that she held closed, while her hair had been held back with a large clip at the back of her head. She didn't know what to do, but she knew she couldn't simply abandon Newt on this journey. She knew it was her fault that the beasts were out. They were so close to the final stretch, she knew it was worth finishing with him. Plus, all these unanswered questions constantly bugged her. Why did Newt act so scared to be open with her?

She glanced over at the man. Newt was focused, his eyes completely glued on the surroundings as he searched for the creature. His strong features were vividly painted by the moonlight, his soft freckles mimicking the stars in the sky. She would have to lie if she said that he wasn't handsome. He was, she had to admit. He was charming as well, and not to mention, sweet. He was extremely sweet. She adjusted her cardigan again, breathing out softly. She watched her breath dissipate into the chilly air. With winter around the corner, the nights kept getting colder and colder.

"How long must we stand in the cold?" She asked, trying to lighten the mood. Newt had glanced at her, smiling a bit in response. "Surely not too long." He had replied simply, his eyes falling to the ground. He knew once he had caught the creature, he would have to leave her. He couldn't hurt her again, it was too much to bare. But seeing her like this, so comfortable, he wished to hold her. He wished he could embrace her just as he used to. It pained him, it pained him so-

He saw it. He heard the snapping of a branch and his eyes had flicked right over it it. He had began the stretch of catching the final beast, a rather amusing show for his partner. She had laughed softly as she watched Newt attempt to capture the beast. Once he had finally caught it, he had leaned on his case with a loud, reliever sigh. He glanced at the girl, his crooked and cheeky grin on his face. "Wasn't so bad." He said, seeming rather happy now that he had gotten it. His smile slowly dropped as he had looked at her.

She was so stunning in the moonlight, her skin so bright in the light, her lips looking so pink. She was stunning, she was everything that he remembered. He couldn't stop staring at her as she looked at him with that smile. Her soft and gentle eyes on him. He would melt right there, his heart beating a mile a minute. To hell, it wasn't fair. So what, she didn't have magic? She knew how to love better than any woman that he had known. She was gentle, tender, and sweet. She was gorgeous, and stunning. She could be known by everyone just for her beauty.

And once, she was his. He couldn't stand it anymore, he would give all of his magic up for her within a heartbeat. He couldn't stand it! It wasn't fair!

He had set the case on the ground, rushing over to her. He had cupped her small and soft cheeks into his palms, his lips connecting with hers. She had been tense for a moment, but she quickly melted onto his lips. He felt familiar to her, he felt so warm and welcoming. She moved against his chest, her hands falling onto his chest. They were quite the site, a couple kissing under the stars. They seemed so perfect. So happy.

Newt could feel his soul screaming in joy, his heart finally feeling full again. He would take whatever punishment he had to for this. He just needed to have her, right now.
