It was odd to the girl, how Newt had known where she lived without asking. How he kept mentioning things that had happened that she had zero knowledge on. She ended up laying there, looking up at the ceiling all night. She didn't know what to do anymore, should she call the police on this man? Well, it wouldn't make too much sense. After all, he has proven that his beasts are real.
With her mind trailing, she slowly ended up dozing off for the night. Newt had woken up at dawn and headed into his case, tending to his beasts. He was lost in his thoughts. He never thought he would get the girl he loved back, but she was so close, and at the same time, so extremely far. He loved her. There was zero doubt that he would stop a train for this girl. He would have given everything up just to be with her. He didn't care about the stupid laws or magic at all. If he could just have her back, it would be more than worth it.
He ended up coming out of the case after an hour or two, heading to the kitchen to make a meal for her. He used to do this every once in a while for her, and the warm smile he received had always made it worth the effort. He knew that after they had captured the last beast, he would have to leave. But, he didn't want to. With a deep breath, Newt had closed his eyes and thought back to that one beautiful morning he held onto.
"(Name)?" He called out, sliding a hash brown into her dish out of the old, bent pan. He had been humming a soft tune as Pickett had sat on a shelf and stacked sugar cubes. The girl came in after a few moments, her small hands rubbing at her warm, tired eyes. He glanced over at her, and a smile overtook his face. She was gorgeous. She was absolutely perfect in every way in his eyes, and never for a moment did he second guess hiding her from the world. She was his, and he was hers. That's how it was.
The girl had looked at him through her narrowed, heavy eyes and a small smile pulled at the corners of her mouth. She admired his strawberry locks, lit up by the warmth of the bright, early Sun. His tiny freckles like kisses of gold on his cheeks, and his stunning light eyes that had squinted ever so slightly as he smiled whenever he saw her.
He loved her.
He didn't have to say a word to show it. The way he stopped everything to admire her, to truly let the moment sink in with his feet grounded to the floor. He loved her so, so much. The whole moment was a soft orange, yellow, warm hue that had been painted into Newt's mind for the rest of his life. Her soft, pink lips pressing against his as she had taken a piece of his ginger locks between her finger, twirling it ever so gently. She was so soft with him. So gentle.
She was so much smaller than him, and he felt like he could break her at any moment. That's how it had always felt. Whenever he had gotten injured by one of his creatures, she had gently unbuttoned his shirt, softly wiping the wounds across his chest with a damp, light, washcloth. She would kiss above the wound softly, before always saying "You're so strong, my love. But, please be more careful next time."
He would simply smile softly and nod.
Newt was snapped out of his thoughts once he had slid the hashbrown into the dish. He had finished cooking without even realizing, painting a frown onto his face. Everything felt cold and grey, and his heart sank. He wanted her back, so very badly.
"Name?" He called softly, afraid to wake the girl up. She had come in a few moments later, though, seeming extremely tired in his eyes. She obviously lost sleep herself last night, trying to answer her own endless thoughts. She glanced at the food, and for a moment, her eyes faintly lit up. She could just barely remember that one breakfast, but it left just as soon as it came. She sat at the table and gave him a gentle smile before the ginger boy had poured them both cups of orange juice. Just the perfect amount, in her favorite cup.
God, she just didn't understand how he knew her even better than she did.
"It's a full moon tonight." He says before beginning to eat. The girl nodding silently, hesitantly following his motions. The delicious flavor of the meal had melted onto her tongue, making her entire body ease. She took a small sip of her drink before nodding again. "So, tonight we capture it?" She had asked before setting her cup down onto the table. He nodded, sighing softly.
"Tonight we capture it."
