" Sure" can you please excuse mesaid trying not to look so excited.

"Great. But its not a date", " I mean we just became friends today" He responded.

" I know" I chuckled.

He was so determined that we stay friends for as long as possible. I guess he had a bad history of dating girls to fast.

As I walked out Kendrick was outside the room talking to Sherane. Her face was serious but he was there laughing at her or with her. I don't know.

"Um Kendrick, and you can you two please excuse me" I asked.

By now both of them were eyeing me from top to bottom

" Sure" he said opening the door.

An hour passed and detention was over.

" So, how you gonna get home" He asked me.

"Um, I supposed to go with Nicki, but I forgot to tell her I had detention." I replied.

"Well it is 4:45, and you and I both know that these Compton streets aren't anywhere for a girl like you to be walking alone" He said almost like he was rapping.

"I know, but I don't know anyone who cold walk with me" I said now looking all over the place.

" Me either, because I have a car" He joked.

I was somewhat embarrassed. But it wasn't really a big deal.

"Hop in" he said pointing to a mini van.

I did as I was told.

" Where do you live"

"um.. 29 Ponato Lane" I said.

" Wow that's bout two blocks away from my house" he said.

The drive was mainly quiet we gave each other slight glances from time to time.

When we arrived he asked me...

"Do you have to get permission from your folks to go"

"Nope, my dad is in Miami, and he said just lock the door if I go anywhere" We both laughed.

" I'll call him just to let him know though" I told him.

As I was leaving Kendrick called me back.

I walked back somewhat confused.

" I'm saying this as a friend so don't take it some type of way"

I was really confused now.

" Nicole.......... your ass is huge" He teased.

We both started laughing.

Me and Kendrick, laughing, cause of my big..... ole......... fat......... ass!
